Getting that aggressive SH-101 sound on the R3?

Hello, Basically I've been in love with the SH-101's great sound since a while now, and since I can't afford one or handling and taking care of an analogue synthesizer, I bought an R3 some months ago (but not mainly because I want the SH's sound, but because I love it). And i've been thinking, Could ...

I would say that the VPM feature in the Radias/R3 sounds closer to DX7 style FM. Oh GOD I loved the DX7's sound! It was mainly because it was really close to the YM2612 Soundchip, Wich The Sega Genesis had, And I really love the classic Sega Genesis / Megadrive sound The DX7 Is just like a much ...

[ NordL2 - fascia ] Actually, the front panel of the Nord looks pretty darn Good and straight to the point! :o I mean that Lead has dedicated knobs and buttons on the front panel for the most important parameters, while R3 not. It's true that it dosen't have important knobs easily accesible, But ...

It has twice as bigger polyphony as R3 has Well that's the thing, Polyphony isn't much of a huge matter to me. I don't play or record things live usually. If I really wanted to get something complex out of the R3 I would just split the melody in two and record twice. Then, front panel - no need for ...

New Korg R3 or Used Nord Lead 2?

Basically, For half a year I'm staring at the wonderful Korg R3, Trying to gather up money to buy one, As I'm insanely poor. I have already went to a Local Instruments shop several times just to get my hands on it again :P I love it's look, It's interface (The Compact Knob menu dosen't bother me, at ...

Used Radias's aren't that much more than a used Korg R3 nowadays, and certainly less than a new R3. I'd just go right for the mothership. Wait a second what? I have never seen a Radias with a price so low, Never. The R3 uses to be around 550-600 euros new.. How can a Radias be cheaper than that? I ...

Yeah, that's right. It is a Korg Forum. But it's the General Synthesizers/Keyboards. And I just can't register on the Roland forum and the Yamaha forum seems empty to me.

I will look onwards trying the M50 too.

High Quality Keyboard/Synthesizer at an Affordable Price?

I Am really searching since a while for a Keyboard/Synthesizer with High quality Acoustic sounds. I'm Looking especially for Pianos with soul (Like the amazing pianos from the Roland Juno Di and Gi), Nice sounding Brasses, Wonderful Bell sounds(Even fantasy ones) and Great Brass sounds. Actually ...

Depending on where you're coming from, there are many anwers to those questions. The Radias was created as a Virtual Analog (VA for short) synthesizer, meaning it is not built on samples (like many current "synthesizers"/workstations/keyboards) but it uses mathematical formulas to simulate analog ...

How Comparable is the Korg R3 to an Analog synthesizer?

I am really interested in this. I really love the wonderful sounds that an analog machine can make. And I am interested if I can make something similar on the R3, Since I heard it might can do so. For example, Could it replicate any sounds that Aphex twin uses in his songs? Can it replicate any ...

IMHO you should get the Radias knowing that it will give you more features. In the end, that will allow you to create sounds not possible with the R3 Well, I can't find the radias anywhere near. Not even on ebay. Plus that, Radias here costs about 900-1200 euros. And that is far more than the R3. I ...

Is the Radias more worth getting than the R3?

I really am interested in knowing this. I know it has higher Polyphony and more Keys, But the Interface seems a little Weird to me. I loved The look and Interface of the R3 (The knob that switched what the other knobs did, Plus Led screens and Led-lit knobs) And the Radias seems more expensive than ...
