thanx for answering! so do you "try" what fits your first melody or do you "compose" ( let's say you got an a in your first melody therefor you need a c or e because you want to be i a-minor ). i can't see how to go for a second melody or chords if i don't have some sort of piano roll or staff paper ...

what kind of music do you produce on your Electribes?
i'm not talking about different genres but more of a general kind of music - is your music more rhythm or more melodic driven?
i'm asking because i can't imagine to do melodic work without a piano roll type ui which of course is the opposite from an Electribe.

The Electribe is not a USB host so will not accept a USB keyboard direct, to connect a MIDI keyboard directly you need to use the MIDI DIN connector. Okay, that makes sense; but how about this: if I use a USB-to-MIDI converter on a keyboard that only has a USB output, will that work? Thanks for the ...

Re: ES2 + OP-1
Still looking for nice ES2-company ... Has anyone done this? ES2 sends out midi notes via usb - and the OP-1 can receive Midi notes via usb. Thus, it should be possible to sequence the later with the ES2, right? no, both units need what is called a usb host device which neither one is. usb to midi ...

do you happen to know if voice stealing affects midi output - say i use the ES2 for sequencing external synth gear but leave the drum sounds onboard? It doesn't affect MIDI output but also the MIDI-only parts are eating CPU power from your Tribe. Because you can't switch off internal voices. You ...
