o and under the preferences tab under midi/sync it says

takeover mode: none
input: R3 (midi in)
input: R3 (KNB/KNOB)

so I have my r3 hooked up via usb to my macbook pro with ableton live. I downloaded the driver from the korg website and when I open ableton, if I play something on the r3, ableton recognizes it but no sound it heard. I tried selecting different instruments but still no sound. Can anyone help?

really? ok well that sounds sweet. I enjoy using garageband for its piano sounds but then I can't use any knobs or anything.. but what you are telling me is that I can go back out of the computer into the r3... hmm I'm going to try this but I may need some help! I don't have a manual... Thanks!!

hmm that really confused me sorry... so there's no way I can download a piano sound straight to my r3? I have to manipulate the synths that I already have to sound like a piano? Sorry Im just new to this stuff...

I got my korg r3 set up with garageband (it plays the midi sounds out of the computer) but is there a way to get these sounds (piano sounds) back into the korg r3? then through the mixer? Or do I have to go out of the computer?
