i did that...i just can not get the editor librarian software that comes with the padkontrol to work.....it says "midi device not found"

i have a microkorg synthesizer, and just bought a padkontrol....the only software i have is the basic editor librarian software that comes with the padkontrol......i need to know how to hook up the padkontrol to my synthesizer, and how to get it all to work properly...somebody please help me...this ...
