I am having trouble figuring out assembling a Combi that uses Karma to provide perc tracks ...

Wondering if anyone has setup karma to work just as a simple percussionist playing cajon or djembe maybe with shakers and tambourine thrown in.
If so, any tips or resources on setting up combi's to do this.
