Ah OK, cheers. Have to admit I read it the same but I thought I must be missing something as have seen people raving about this new product. I would like to get some kind of sequencing hub; at the moment I sequence the Beats via midi through a Yamahga QY10 which is laborious, and then use volca sync ...

New Korg SQ-1 Analog Step Sequencer
Hi All, Can any experts tell me if this new Korg SQ-1 will be worth getting to sequence the Volcas? http://www.gear4music.com/Keyboards-and-Pianos/Korg-SQ-1-2x8-Analog-Step-Sequencer/169G?origin=product-ads&gclid=CjwKEAiAoo2mBRD20fvvlojj5jsSJABMSc7jtepbAkovBcqEffEfW8T9SvL4ITxeeLyYa0ccugvW-BoCbsvw ...

I can get the qy10 start and stop and clock the beats - I cant get it to actually program the beats however. I can get it to program/play the Bass - I must be doing something wrong with mapping the Drum kit - I've tried various combination Maps but none of them seem to Play the Beats' individual ...

I use an ancient Yamaha QY10! Like to keep everything hardware and portable (would upgrade to a QY70 or QY100 if the price was right). Nice! Got one of them too. Being portable and retro looking, I think they are a perfect match. They're just about the same size. Gotta try them out. I've only used ...

I was new to music hardware when I got the beats and bass. They Beats is great for putting ideas together but the lack of individual outs and midi out is restrictive if you are trying to put a song together. There are workarounds though, I put all the Beats midi notes into a sequencer and record a ...

I use an old Boss BX800 - very noisy mixer  I actually use mini stereo to 2 x mono cables for my Beats and Bass so am using up 4 single channels at the moment. 6 when I get the Keys. I pan hard left/right for each of the 2 channels per Volca. Does everyone use the cable mentioned above without ...

No stutter on individual sounds with external midi
HI all,
Can anyone help me with a small issue I have noticed with Volca Beats?
I am sending midi from a Yamaha QY10. For some reason I can't get my stutter setting to save for individual sounds when using the Beats like this - it is like global stutter or nothing. Have I set something up wrong?

The Volcas can receive MIDI notes, but can't send them.* This is why your DAW is not receiving notes from the Volca's sequencer. *I haven't done this, but if you look around on the net, you'll find that some people are adding MIDI out to their Volcas by soldering three wires onto the main board. So ...

For the first issue, you can just clear the step sequence from the Volca (Func + key 16). The step sequencer will still start when you hit play in Live but there won't be any notes in the sequence. I'm not sure I know what you mean when you say "record patterns in to the DAW". If you mean you want ...

Volca Bass - playing patterns or notes in DAW
Hi all, Really pleased to find this community after purchasing Beats and Bass for Christmas. I've been trying to master the Bass first in stand alone mode and feel pretty confident with the features so far (so refreshing to make music this way after only previously using virtual instruments). My ...
