This was something I was hoping to do when I first got my Beats. I'm no expert so cant explain why, but as far as I know it isnt possible. Best you can do is just sequence the parts from your DAW.

Only problem I have with Ableton is there is always a gap at the start when recording the audio from my Volcas so I cant sync it up with VST instruments.

I can get the qy10 start and stop and clock the beats - I cant get it to actually program the beats however. I can get it to program/play the Bass - I must be doing something wrong with mapping the Drum kit - I've tried various combination Maps but none of them seem to Play the Beats' individual ...

Can anyone help me with a small issue I have noticed with Volca Beats?

I am sending midi from a Yamaha QY10. For some reason I can't get my stutter setting to save for individual sounds when using the Beats like this - it is like global stutter or nothing. Have I set something up wrong?

The Volcas can receive MIDI notes, but can't send them.* This is why your DAW is not receiving notes from the Volca's sequencer. *I haven't done this, but if you look around on the net, you'll find that some people are adding MIDI out to their Volcas by soldering three wires onto the main board. For the first issue, you can just clear the step sequence from the Volca (Func + key 16). The step sequencer will still start when you hit play in Live but there won't be any notes in the sequence.
