I've got an M3 61, and I'll say this: I will never again buy a synth without dedicated octave +/- buttons. Yes, I am going through and programming the SW1 button to do this on patches where I need it, but this comes into play when using the M3 to trigger other synths. If I need to switch octaves on ...

Hi Michael - well done on taking the initaitive to develop these videos! I have a quick question, if I may about your iTunes album - which distributor did you use? I know there are several but wondered if you had any recommendations! Many thanks Thank you. I used CDBaby - they sell my physical CDs ...

M3 Demo Videos

FYI, I've made a bunch of demo videos using my M3 61:

These may be more interesting for people who don't have an M3, but others may find them entertaining as well.

FYI, Rich from Korg was able to provide some insight into this, helping me to figure out how to streamline this (and more). Very helpful to anyone using the M3 editor, especially as a plugin inside a DAW in sequencer mode. See: http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showthread.php?p=39699110 ...

M3 Editor/VST - always "Receive All?"

Every time I open the M3 editor it seems as though I have do manually do a "Receive All" to get the patch names into the editor. This takes about a minute and 20 seconds. I am using the editor as a plugin in Digital Performer. I am using it in SEQ mode to do 16-part multi-timbral sequencing using DP ...

Shakil wrote: There is setting in Global Mode to set the MIDI channel of the drum track and if you want to send it on MIDI out. If you check the MIDI out option, you can capture the drum pattern as MIDI in DP, but note that you will need M3 to playback that drum pattern with the exact sounds.
Thank you.

Re: Transferring drum patterns to Digital Performer

(Please don't simply tell me to use the M3's sequencer, as that's beside the point.) Actually for easier way thats where you have to start, probably easier then other options, just save it as MIDI from Sequencer but i dont think we can give you a detailed answer to that question since you dont even ...

Transferring drum patterns to Digital Performer

I'm considering purchase of an M3 and had fun playing one in a store recently. I noticed that when playing any sound, there's a drum pattern that can be activated, and that it's easy (using the touch screen) to change patterns, kits, tempo, etc. Lots of fun for "jamming" on the spot. I do NOT intend ...

An option would be to get 5 M3, all having a different octave shift, one on the top of each other. Then with the help of a little elevator that has two transpose buttons, you could automatically raise or lower the lift to reach the right keyboard. LOL ... i don't mean to encourage, but that made me ...

Well, I am the OP, and it appears as though while there are "workarounds" for this, there aren't any dedicated octave transpose buttons, so I am apparently not blind. I have read through everything posted here, and FWIW I agree with most of what mbncp has written about why all keyboards should ...

Re: No octave transpose buttons on M3 61?

How could Korg omit this? Perhaps I've missed something. Maybe you've missed the whole Korgs Workstations line since 15 years ago, none of them has, its only 2 assignable switches which you can add Octave. Yes, I have. The only Korg synth I've owned is a Micro X (which is mighty fun, I might add ...

No octave transpose buttons on M3 61?

I'm very close to purchasing the M3 61 - BUT I just noticed it has no octave transpose buttons. What's up with that? You have to go diving into the global menu to set the transpose to +12 or -12 or whatever? Hardly practical when playing live. And what about when using the M3 to play other synths ...

Most synths - and I believe this is the case with the Micro X - do not save edits made to individual patches (programs) as part of a multi setup. A multi is a collection of patches assigned to parts and MIDI channels, with certain volumes, pans, and effects. But if you tweak a parameter that's ...
