Probably fix it but you can back your patterns up with the editor/librarian anyway. I'd back mine up regardless. They might reset it anyway for testing purposes. Back up your patches!

Be sure to try the editor librarian software, because it's a great way to learn how it works inside. +1 Plus i've found the editor is the best way to deal with patches as it's easy to edit from one patch and save the new patches to my hd and then i can reload them and reorganize banks easily ...

Are you sure audio is coming from the R3? Try plugging some headphones and playing a few notes. If there's no audio local control could be turned off or if it's an arp patch it won't play if sync is set to external and the r3 isn't receiving clock. It goes left and right out of the r3 to left and ...

Ooh sounds nice. The R3 keeps surprising me. I only started messing with the editor the other day and started really getting into the guts of the synth, it's a really powerful synth engine hidden under that brown casing. I'll check the patch out, cheers.

Heh, just today i was thinking a randomize function in the R3 editor would be nice.

Have you tried resetting it or rerunning the os update? That sometimes can fix problems and will also eliminate the OS as the cause.
