Ha, yes, I do need editing! But . . . I don't need microscopically detailed editing, the kind that requires a large screen. I'd rather just play the parts as I want them, imperfections and all. But that's just me. I agree, if you really want to tweak, the Kronos is not the best. All I'm saying is it ...

So I may be the lone voice of dissent. I do all of my recording now with my Kronos, two studio monitors, and a set of headphones. Audio tracks consist of guitars, bass, percussion, and sometimes vocals. For me it's a great all-in-one. Before that, I had a Yamaha AW1600 and before that a Korg D3200 ...

I've had the same thought, but it would not work for me right now. I live in a historic apartment building with strict noise rules, so headphones and small monitors are as loud as I can get for now.Bertotti wrote:Kompozer why not find a used acoustic upright?

Yes, good point. What we spend time on makes a difference, and it's part of my draw to the SV-1 (or any other stage type board). Sometimes my Kronos, as much as I like it, can become a diversion. I can get very distracted by its myriad sounds and features when I'm really just trying to write music ...

I agree about mixers. If I got an SV-1, I'd also use it directly to the monitors. I don't have space or stands to keep two boards running at once. I'd store whichever one I'm not using at the moment. Generally I spend weeks writing with just pencil, paper, and piano. Then I switch to programming ...

GregC, thanks for your thoughts. I like your signature -- Kronos + drum pad = done. That's how I was thinking about my Kronos 73 -- use it to the maximum. The rest of my rig is just headphones and two JBL studio monitors. But now this infatuation with the SV-1. It has caught me off guard. The Kronos ...

Re: Besides Kronos, do you own other current Korgs?
Current.. means? I have a Triton 76 which is a great addition to my Kronos 88. Having the two kinds of keybeds is really nice - organs just feel better on the non-weighted. But it also has great sounds that let me create some great combinations and connections. By current I mean not "vintage ...

Besides Kronos, do you own other current Korgs?
Hi. I'm a happy Kronos 73 owner since 2012. I write orchestral music and use the Kronos for production instead of a computer. It's my only keyboard. Just curious what your Korg arsenals might be like. I recently tried an SV-1 on a whim and loved it. I'm thinking of getting one to use just as a piano ...
