Hi Sharp,

I'm in the same catgory as a few others have mentioned, mainly that I'm new to trying my hands at synth programming. But this seems like it would be quite interesting to give it a go, and as you already noted, there are others that can possibly offer help with questions or provide some quidance -- so count me in if it's not too late! In the interest of full disclosure: I'm also dealing with learning a new job at the moment, so unfortunately have not had much free time for other things, but I do believe that will start improving over time. Given that, I'll still try to contribute what I can.

Hello.

Thanks a million for the offer, but to keep things simple it’s best to just send the data to Daz since he’s the administrator. Having anyone else upload the data would require us to setup something to deal with that since the open FTP we allow people to use wouldn’t have the free space needed.

Thanks anyway though. I really appreciate the offer.

Kind Regards
Sharp.

Hi Sharp,

I like your idea very much. I own the big O just a few weeks and did not do the extensive programming of the programs sofar but I really like to dig in there.

It's very nice from you wanting to share your samples with the O community. Does this mean you don't want to keep the copyrights of this material? Will it be like in the open source community "copyleft" material?

I'm just wondering: what's your motivation if you don't own an OASYS yourself?

Frank

Not exactly. I offer the data freely, and therefore I expect it to remain free to the KORG community only.

In short, I wouldn’t be too happy to see someone taking my samples and trying to make a profit off them, or converting them into any other format than KORG. I also wouldn’t like to see them swiped and posted on other websites.

So technically the sample data remains mine, but can be used copyright / royalties free.
I'm just wondering: what's your motivation if you don't own an OASYS yourself?
There are a few reasons. Some of which are, I actually own this website along with Daz and wish to see this side of the community expanded as I don’t feel that there is much in the way of development here or end user joint projects.

I have also been well known to do this sort of thing all the time. You only need to take a look at the download section. I maintain it, and the majority of the downloads are my work. Even the joint projects like the VL Project contain my sample data.

So, this is nothing new. I’m just doing what I’m supposed to in order to grow the community and hopefully make KORGForums.com the best place on the NET for people like you.

Kind Regards.

Hi all.

Sorry for the delay on all this, but I’ve been adding more data to the set.

I’m well and truly finished now, and just so you know. It’s a whopping 176MB of PCM data. Most of which is completely new and has never been made available in the download section before.

I’ll get it all packed up now and shipped off to Daz.

Kind Regards.

Hi Dave.

Welcome to KORGForums.com

When it’s available it can be freely downloaded from the download section. I’ll post a list of all the multisamples, where they came from, and what they sound like very soon.

Kind Regards.

Hi Sharp,
How about sharing new programs and combis? I've programmed half a bank of new combis so far. They're based on factory programs (no need for loading samples). Among them a lot of jazzy, soulgroove style bass splits I use for practicing (I play synth and organ bass in a jam band :) I'd like to share those with forum members here. Is there a way to send or upload data?
Kind Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter.

Yeah sure, I would actually like to encourage everyone here to share their sounds.

To submit files just go to the entrance of the download section here….
http://www.korgforums.com/?show=1 and click on the “ Click Here” upload form at the bottom of the page.

I’ll then make all the necessary changes to the download section to get things started. It’s about time we added the OASYS to our list.

Kind Regards.

Hi Peter,

Where is your file posted? Whne I go to the link that Sharp provided, I don't see a section for OASYS. Maybe I'm missing something?

Thanks,
Paul
