Thanks! I've got a mixed bag of indie stuff. I think Daz sent me 20 bucks and I sent him a "care package" of a few shorts and features. (Any faves, Daz? ROADKILL? THE AWAKENING?)Davidb wrote:I was able to see some snippets of you work today, and I have to say that I think you work it really interesting.
The EXILE pics (on the previous page) might look like the Roland team breaking into Korg's secret R&D labs, but it will actually be a pretty good sci-fi/adventure movie. It's around 10 times the budget of my last flick, so it should be an improvement in almost every way. You'll have to wait for that one, since I intend to shelve it, until the OASYS stuff is done.

Hi Mike,

Beya
how's the dvd coming along? I think anything between $20 and $45 is a very reasonable price taking into consideration the involved subject material!Mike Conway wrote:I'll see how it ends up, but I want to keep it very reasonable. Some tutorials charge up the wazoo, but I'm not going to do that. What do you think?

Hi, Beya and Charlie.
Obviously, things got delayed with the movie project and people are probably wondering if there will even be a DVD. I'm set up again, in one of EXILE's sets. This will act as my music and editing studio, for the next few months:

There is no way to cram everything on a single DVD. In fact, it looks like 3 discs - I won't make you wait for all three, so I'll release the first one, as soon as it's ready.
I've taken some suggestions, including those of fellow forum members, The Mix Master and Charlie, to include practical demos, along with covering the modes of the machine.
The first disc will cover Intro to OASYS and Global mode (which is where you set up the machine and edit Wave Sequences and Drum kits). I know a lot of people would be disappointed if I don't include something on the Sequencer - right away (that will be the 3rd disc). So, I will have half a dozen practical demos, including at least one fairly extensive Sequencer/HDR demo on disc one. Every disc will have these practical demos, in addition to the mode coverage.
Until the first disc is ready to ship, I won't be saying too much, as date speculation has shown to be off from my original (and simple one disc) plans. Things are back on track, though.

Same here!
I appreciate your idea to realease them one by one and to have sequencer stuff on each DVD including the workflow-issue.
I'm still struggling with this sequencer beast. I've been close to switching back to Cubase several times - but I don't want to. It's so handy to have everything on one machine. But once in a while you get stuck with a special or new problem - and the help page doesn't help in this special case - etc. etc. ... that's frustrating.

Sina, I apologize for the long overdue reply. When you asked, I was not sure. As you probably know, I'm juggling EXILE and the tutorial editing. Doing both has just been overwhelming.
Well, I bit the bullet and hired an editor - a friend from N. Mexico. He is staying at my house and editing full time. The tutorial should be edited in the next week or so. I believe Dan would like to review it, for accuracy. Then, I will get the DVD replicated.
I'm hoping for October release. Of course, you guys will be the first to know.
