Never sell the Trinity...Never!
So I picked up an M3 this week and have finally been spending some time with it this weekend (damn work!).
It's a great machine but I must say the Trinity still has that special something with regards to it's sound..especially Pads.
In the M3 you can hear some of the Trinity heritage (some COMBIs sound similar) but they just don't have that silky sheen to them.
Only Trinity owners will know what I'm talking about.
Long live the T.

Wow! I felt the same way when I went to Guitar Center and played on the Oasys. I literally felt I was playing the Trinity. Of course the Oasys is light years away in goodies etc, but the overall sound, the trinity definitely is in there. You know, I really hope this doesn't hurt Korg as its a great company. I still say, they should release a stripped down version of the Oasys and call it O-Trinidad... or something like that. I would like to see the Trinity reborn.Unknown Sound wrote:So I picked up an M3 this week and have finally been spending some time with it this weekend (damn work!).

I'm missing my trinity a lot!!
I've got the TR-rack, but it's not the same...I need the silver beast under my fingers!
Guys, I'm trading for a trinity pro w/MOSS for a very good price, if I buy that, I'll be in synth heaven!!
regards

Reading this Thread, makes me feel warm inside,Knowing I have got a Trinity,Prophecy,Z1,Triton and Oasys..
Glad I kept the Silverware!!
I never understood why the Z1 was such a commercial flop
In terms of a Triton EXi,I've been converting over some of the Sounds on the Triton in the Oasys,to see how they fair, and they translate really well, given that most of the program parameters are identical(Kind of Like Trinity>Triton, except Triton>Oasys has the better option for Filter matching, than Trinity>Triton)that somehow I'd say Korg spending the time to research and develop a Triton EXi would personally be a waste of resourses, and I'd prefer to see something else intergrated within the Oasys, although the Engines are pretty well evenly matched,it shouldn't be too much of a problem for Korg to do a Triton EXi,the majority of the PCM data is already there, one of the major advatages though would be to have the Triton Arpeggiator function developed for the Oasys,I know Karma compensates for this, but I'd like to replicate my Combis exact in the oasys which would make full use of the internal Arps on the Triton
I think that rather than a direct EXi,Korg(or some other third party developer/Stuart Pryor Pehaps) would maybe be more placed to create a software convertor for Triton PCG>Oasys format!!
Its rather Labourous doing it manually, but it works well

The Trinity is a beautiful maschine,I would never sell mine.It does sound smoother/warmer than the Triton.Trinity also looks the part with it's shiny metal body.
I'm so glad that I didn't sell all my older Korgs because I have the OASYS.
Like Kontrol49,I love all my silver Korg beasts.
My Trinity,Z1 and Tritons are permanant residents in my studio.
I just wished I kept my O1/WFD.That is one Korg I do miss.

Music keeps me sane in an insane world.

I've always cherished my Trinity. But even more so now that I finally have the PBS option installed and can expand it's potential with samples and third party sounds that I can load into the additional banks without disturbing banks A and B. I've fallen in love with it all over again.
Current Korg Lineup: Kronos 61, Oasys 76 · M3-61/RADIAS · Trinity Plus/HDR · 01/WFD · 01R/W · X3R · M3R · Wavestation EX · Wavestation SR · Triton Rack/MOSS · Z1EX · TR-Rack · Karma · D3200 · iM1 · iWavestation · iMono/Poly
Other Synths: Berhinger Deepmind 12 · iProphet · Moog Model D
Dearly departed: X3

Yeah, The Trinity has it's unique sound.
I wanted to sell all my gear in order to get the OASYS(even my trinity pro V3)until I called every dealer in my area (NY) and one of them had the OASYS for display,I went to check it out and try almost every sample on it.
The sounds are really good on the OASYS but... The Trinity is the Trinity it's sound is unique,It can not be matched.
I will not sell my Trinity.

I'll certainly NEVER part with mine. It gives out a very professional sound, one that's very different to my other synths, so compliments them really, really well. A very smooth and uncompromised sound.
I think Korg started cutting corners after this synth.
