THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED AND IMPORTANT QUESTIONS!
In here, every body just post the question they have about PA800,
no matter what it is, i mean technical questions how to use the board
and certain funtcions and features, not what is KORG planing or whos
dad has more money or better car.
I will answer all of the QUESTIONS in a new TOPIC and i'll ask the ADMINS
to make it STICKIE so people can find their way around easier.
This is too much, 50 people asking the same question in 50 different
topics and having to rewrite 50 times.
And after all that when you need it you cant find the answer, like this
it will be a lot easier, just go to the Sticky tutorial and you'll find it there.
Just simply post the question in here and leave it alone, then i'll do
my best to what i have to do.

Or otherwise a new user MUST go through the whole PA800 forum posts before asking a question as he/she might find the answer in earlier posts. I know it takes time but he/she can get a lot more information about other things as well.

Hello Nedim & Shahid,
A great positive task… and very much needed on this great Forum:
# Questions related to Operating System:
1. From where can I download OS Versions?
2. How do I perform an OS upgrade without loosing my old data?
# Questions related to Effects Section:
1. How do I control the Reverb of the overall Style/Performance?
2. How do I control the Reverb of the individual sounds?
3. How to copy effects?
# Questions related to Sampling/Style section:
1. How do I access the sampling screen?
2. How do I import .wav/.aiff files into the system?
3. What is time slice? Why is time slice needed? How to perform time slice? Under what circumstances can time slice be by-passed?
4. How to create a sample from built-in sounds and assign the same to intro1/2 Ending1/2/3 etc.
5. How to copy the sounds from intro1 to intro 2 or from intro 1 to ending 1?
6. How to assign 1.wav file to var1; 2.wav to var2; copy 1.wav to var3, etc ?
7. How to import .wav file and assign the same to Pads?
8. How do I load the .set file?
Nedim, these are the questions that are coming into my mind right now or these are the questions that, as a new user, I have come across.
I hope it helps a bit
Thanks & regards...

Why not refer to the official KORGPa site first, and then bringing up your own FAQ's?
If a person buys a PA800 (or any other professional keyboard), then it's advisable to actually read the manual first and THEN ask questions; as many of the answers are clearly explained in the manual, not as "Question and Answer", but in plain text.

You download OSs from www.korgpa.com and you cannot perform
a clean install without loosing your data, all you can do is just
update the OS and you wont loose data.
Certain OSs also come with the Musical Resources update, doing that
you will loose your data which means you have to back up.

Sandy, i will answer your questions here:
Copying FX:
Go to Menu, click FX, choose the effect you wanna copy, then go to the ARROW
on top and click COPY, after that, go to WHEREVER you wanna paste the
effect, choose the desired loaction of A,B,C,D and then go on ARROW again
and click PASTE...DONE!
Controlling FX:
In STYLE PLAY hit MENU then choose MIXER/TUNING, on the bottom of the
display click SEND FX and in there you have the parameters for both SENDS.
If you hit the TRACK SELLECT button you can switch between STYLE TRACKS
or ACC TRACKS to adjust individually.
Accessing SAMPLING MODE:
Go to SOUND MODE and hit RECORD, in there you have another 3
different MODES which are SAMPLE, MULTISAMPLE and TIME SLICE.
Importing WAVE FILE:
Go to sampling MODE, if its a DRUM SAMPLE as a SINGLE HIT sta in
SAMPLE MODE or the first page, click ARROW, click LOAD and locate
SAMPLE, after LOADING you have to click ARROW, click SAVE and this
is very important if its a DRUM SAMPLE, there is a category, select the
PROPPER CATEGORY for the DRUM as it is important for later on and
there you have BD, SD, TOMS, CYMBALS, ETHINC PERC, LATIN PERC,
FX and whatever.
If its a LOOP or BEAT of something you go to TIME SLICE by hiting MENU.
The other questions you asked are a little more complicated and it takes
a lot longer time to explain, most of it is in the manual.
I hope this helped you a little.

I would much appreciate if you could explain what you mean by saying “you don’t get all this”?Nedim wrote:Sound4Sina i dont think you get all this and as i see you are new here,

If you think I’m new to this forum, then you’re badly accusing me, since I know rather much about your contributions on various forums and websites (Youtube), including Korg Forums, which furthermore makes me new as a contributor here, but not as a visitor and observer.

You rattle off your words like habla-habla... is “this” your property that I'm trespassing?!

Not in any way i meant to offend you but looking at your words before i cant
think of anything else then YOU BEING NEW IN HERE cuz if you are not new
the you would surely know whats going on in here.
And the only thing made me conclude that you are new is your saying of
THE STUFF IS IN THE MANUALS or LET THEM READ THE MANUALS.
If you are not new in here you would've known better then that.
Most of us are not that SMART and a lot of us dont know what VOLUME is
so what i started here it will help many members a lot more then your manual.
Greetings.

Thanks Nedim
,
I'll explain, Almost one month back I purchased PA800 and I started participating on this forum only 2 days back... all this 28 days I was busy reading the older post's on this forum... saving files, taking printouts.. trying on PA800... referring manuals etc. visiting this forum daily many times to check out new posts etc etc. In the 28 days journey, wherein I started from somewhere from page no.13 or 14, I realised what kind of questions people are asking again and again or same information from different angles - rather I was wondering why till date this herculian task has not been done on this forum. When you floated this current post, based upon my research, I decided to COMPILE some FAQ for your task. Out of this FAQ i know 60% and balance 40% I do not know. Whatever I do not know I will ask here on this forum and forum people had been and are so nice
and cooperative that all my questions will be answered.
Nedim, believe me, manual is too heavy to pick up
asking to the point and getting the answer to the point is much much better.
I have decided on one thing that ones I pick up the process of making a complete song, I will create "A layman's guide to complete song making" and post it here on this forum, it will be very illustrative and shall cover many many features. I love doing creative jobs.
Nedim, while compiling the FAQ's, my intentions were positive but if I have done anything wrong then I am sorry.
Thankyou so much for answering the questions it has helped me and probably others on this forum.
Thanks & Regards
