Korg r3 Speaker or Amplifier?

Post by AnthemOfTheSun »

Hey guys, what is best for use with a korg r3, speakers or amplifiers? I dont have decks or mixers or anything like that, just the korg on its own, if that will make a difference.

Just some names and makes of either that would be up to some wear and tear. All opinions & advice welcome
Thanks in advance

What will you be using it for? Is it for live use, or in a studio setting? If it's for studio, I personally recommend a good headset. For live use, the price pretty much determines what you should get.

My suggestion is Amplified Speakers........
I am trying to aquire a second set of Mackies as a good reference speaker for my programming......
....
they get loud enough in any listening area(aside from a live show venue)
and are accurate enough as a reference, that your sounds will sound comparable on other systems...

The problem with a poor reference speaker is the frequency response curve is not flat.... your program/patch may suffer .....even if it sound great on that "bass enhanced" speaker, You will compensate your patch to complement the speaker, and when you play it on a different system.....
Whoa.......sumthing changed.
Time Can be Mastered,
"NOW" is the Password....
Currently running, Hammond M3, Yamaha CS80 + MM6, Roland JX-3P + Mkb 1000 + Vk7 + D110, Alesis Quadrasynth plus, Haken Continuum fingerboard, Korg Radias + Lambda, Ensoniq SQ80, Waldorf Blofeld, Creamware Prodyssey + B4000, Use Audio Plugiator, Arp Axxe ....and some soft synths.

I would say get some batteries from Walgreens and hook the midi out of your R3 to the Cassette IN of your car stereo. Don't forget to chop the springs on your ride so that it is slammed to the ground. If you're not scrapping your oil pan, you're not cruisin'.
Or you could get some nice cans, Sennheiser HD590's is how I role. They got enough BASS to twist your cap back. West Side UP!
of myself I am nothing.
KORG RADIAS, ESX-1, EMX-1, ESX-1, PAD KONTROLE...
