vacume tube/valve force stereo ?

Post by Vadim »

I always beilieved, and still do, that Valve force, is an actual 12AX7 Vacume tube circuitry...
(and obviously, the blue light isn't the vacume lighting up, but the l.e.d.)

but recently, I heard from another musician: "how can single vacume tube poccess Stereo?"

And what you believe it true, so don't worry about that musicians stereo issues.

Valve force is mixed with original signal only to give it warmth specific for analog tubes, it's the way it is routed in Extreme and has nothing to do with mono/stereo in Extreme.

Good question!!! stereo samples in the Triton need stereo treatment! right??? or it turns out "pseudo stereo" right? hmmm... valves do Indeed! process mono signals, unless you use 2 valves, 1 for each channel.... is there such a thing as a "stereo" valve???? i am a tech but just latched on after the demise of (commercial) valves. Any comments????

Valve Force is a stereo-in/stereo-out analog circuit.
There is one book called Parameter Guide. Believe it or not, but it is related to Triton Extreme and comes with one when buying. On pages 34, 54, 99, 141 and 153 of that Parameter Guide there is a line I qouted above.

Well, I guess Korg was confused about whole this technology, didn't know how does it work and wrote this particular line to see how will we discuss it.

Did you even read freaking guide?

FIVE PLACES IN GUIDE. It is written in five places and you didn't read any of them.

Maybe this Valve in Extreme isn't mono or stereo, maybe it's biturbo!!!!!

Maybe it's just led and Korg is kidding with us, no tube at all!!!!!

Well, 1! i dont believe everything i read!!, as my manual came in German! as i bought from germany, and live in UK, and only read what i need to when i get stuck! 2!! i never bought it for its "valve" as i can tell no difference to the sound anyway, until you turn up the gain and make it distort! whoopy do!... and 3!! it is not stereo??? or is it??? you say KORG dont even know???? huh??? clarify that please...

People are just so gullable!.... KORG (and other manufacturers of tech) sell to whoever wants the "in vogue" equipment at the time, and exploits it to the max!

anyway... still think its a MONO tube

you say KORG dont even know
I meant to sound sarcastic, but obviously failed.
i dont believe everything i read!!
Nice approach, especially when something so funny as serious professional workstation is in place. Person who wrote Parameter Guide used to work in tabloids, but then Korg exploited that person's talent to convince us all in lies.
only read what i need to when i get stuck
And that's the bottom line - how are you stuck with Valve force? Is it malfunctioning? No? Then leave it and don't brake your head with it, it just does what it is supposed to do, add additional warmth and flavor to sounds.
i can tell no difference to the sound anyway
Could depend on the gear you are connecting Extreme to. Definitely there is a difference.

We obviously posted in the same time.

Nice, ask the guy and let me know.

And before that, connect your Extreme's L and R outputs to two separate channels on mixer which are panned in center.
Create one combi with two programs, one panned L127 and other R127, make adjustments in effect not to override that kind of pan somehow.
Route it through Valve Force. Each sound will go to separate speaker.

But, maybe outputs are "pseudo stereo" too? :D

Nice one, pseudo stereo, didn't hear it before.

Bottom line, Valve force is bi-turbo.

Nice one, klarnet basowy.

Muzikman, did we finally solve this enigma now, with help of the third party?

Or do you still believe it is mono? Maybe we should get the damn tube out and beat it until it confesses it's mono?

Just joking.

We should buy klarnet basowy a beer, that's what we should do.

I was right so you would have to buy two beers. :D

Klarnet basowy, will let you know where and when.

Extreme is rather cheap these days, you can find one for around 1300 euros I think, maybe even less. And it's great workstation, I can tell you that.

I mean, it's cheap according to price I paid for it only a year ago.

Hope you'll manage to fulfill your wish.

yup, it's that I "discovered" it too recently, I was out from the synth world for some years, then I tried in a store the TR61 and I liked it very much and bought it.. but then I found that Triton Extreme exists.. damn.. :P

maybe one day..
