i would highly appreciate, if r&d japan could acknowledge the issue on this board aswell
along in-depth information, like is it a sw or hw issue and about an estimated re-solution.

btw. did anyone (from .jp) already has been tested the firmware v1.5 available for download on the japanese korg site?

I've just upgarded. It has some additionl function on the screen to let you control it, such as input trim, send select, play and stop button on the bpm page and the midi clock select. But the VU meters are still don't do anything when the volume is not enough. I'm the lucky one, my Zero8 never has any hiss or hum.

I have this very problem with my zero 8. I had another problem too but since i BOUGHT A NEW COMPUTER it has gone!!! How about some system of resampling back to the computer through the zero's channels and fx? that would make up for everything ;)

Hi There from the cold Netherlands

I also bought myself a Zero 8 and i must say NO HISS the VU meters are
working to the only thing is that i can not get a input from my other stuff into it for recording i still have to update the software maybe that would help..

another question..

Got a Roland SVC Vocoder anybody know how to conect that beast on my Zero 8? with the Send and Return do i need to make some changes in the software..the vocoder needs a Layer of a Synth to make sound but with out hearing that layer...

Thx..Enrico

this is for HISS issue only please post your questions elsewhere..

you must have monitors at 50-100% to hear hiss...

nothing matters what you do on mixer, only way to get hiss is to turn it off entirely

after startup disco very audible hiss begins, no matter what settings

Zero noise on output

Post by screaminkeys »

Hello Zero Owners,

My name is James Sajeva - I'm the product manager for the Zero Mixers here in the US.

Despite not having the "complete solution" to offer at this time, I did want to reach out and let everyone know I'm here watching the thread and communicating directly with the engineers over at Korg Inc with regards to your findings. And, I'm happy to report that at this point we're close to being ready to address the hiss issue. Korg Inc. is working on a modification which will decrease the noise. We're also working on how to support it in the field.

I will report any updates on our progress as they become available.

I do sincerely appreciate the time you've taken to report your experiences. I'm definitely looking to make these mixers the very best they can be for everyone.

Regards,

James Sajeva
Product Manager for DJ, Dance and Computer Products @ Korg USA Inc.

this is good news, im hoping to eliminate the noise not just decrease it with some type of software gate or something, i mix tracks regularly and i am using this mixer to mix tracks for releases. So for me, rather some some type of noise reduction, a complete elimination of this persistent noise floor, hiss sound would be the best. Rather then an affordable solution for korg , with the PWD and all that stuff we expect and at this price range DEMAND real audio fidelity, which so far this mixer has not delivered in any respect. (inputs 1/4 {too low}, headphone output {annoying clicking, for me at least}, sound quality{constant hiss} and digital output levels {extremely low})

as of now, for me at least, its an unuseable product, and as much as i love the korg brand, this has been a genuine dissapointment and makes me wish i had waited rather then been an early adopter... i chose this over a new imac, a decision i have regularly questioned

just being honest here..

we are waiting patiently.

Exactly that issue, but for me, only on the booth out - main XLRs are fine..

Korg ZERO4 here. I didn't hear it at first with my monitors set to about %50, but when I turn them up, I sure do. I don't have any other mixers to test this against, but it definitely doesn't occur when the mixer power is off.
