Triton Extreme pitch bend problem

Post by Tomkeen »

Hey all,

I'm having problems with the pitch stick on my TE since I got the Kaoss Pad 3 (don't know if that has anything to do with it..). The Y-axis (mod) works perfectly, but the X-axis (pitch) doesn't do anything. I got the KP3 last saturday and placed it on top of the TE like this:

(I'm still looking for some kind of laptob table to place my mixer and KP3 on, so for now the KP3 sits on the TE)

I haven't had this problem before I got the KP3, so I wonder if it is possible that the KP3 "disturbs" the inside of the TE (electronic stuff, of which I have no knowledge at all..) or that it's just a coincidence and the pitchstick just broke down..

Anyone had any experience with this? Any help would be usefull...

P.S. I posted this on the HC-forums as well..

I had the same problem

I took it into get repaired and it was just the wiring was loose so it was easy for them to fix. Have it back now and it works perfectly. So I'm guessing for you it is just a coincidence that it has happened when you got the KP3.

Thanks :)

It sucks though, so now I have to get it repaired, and that may take quite a while... Last time with my PA-50 (backlight didn't work anymore) it took Korg a few months to fix it :s

Personally i'd fix this one myself... It sounds like an easy fix if your reasonably competent with a screwdriver and soldering iron...

The pitch stick is one of the easiest of the internals to get to... just whip the back plate off and you can get right at it.

I don't think that this wire is directly connected to any heat sensitive parts e.g. chips/resistors/diodes etc but if it is be careful not to overheat anything.

I've fixed my pitch stick when it came off its clips inside (it got knocked at a gig) and it really is one of the easier fixes for the extreme.

NOTE : IF YOUR EXTREME IS UNDER WARRANTY YOU WILL VOID THE WARRANTY TAKING THE BACK PANEL OFF.
