After Touch - What is it? and how do I use?

Aftertouch is a type of controller. It’s usually used to add modulation (change) to a sound. So it may control the cutoff frequency of the filter or the speed of an LFO…it depends on how the sound was programmed.

You can try it out by assigning Aftertouch to one of the knobs. Then load up Vanguard, select the patch called “Ayla Lead” and turn the knob. That will give the patch a wobbly sound (called tremolo).

okay i did that, and it'll bend when i hold down the note, but when i release my finger from the pad, and the sound is reverberating, it's not doing any "after touch" kinda sounds, like bending...

Right, aftertouch will only work while you’re holding down a pad. My fault for not mentioning that, I thought it was obvious.

haha i guess it's not obvious because it's called "aftertouch" so i figured the effects would work after you hit it.
