From what I recall, there were 2 posters ( 1 was from Motifator) that felt they had a "worn key" as you describe it

When you compare that ' Internet # ' to the 1000's of M3's sold around the world, I think you can sleep easy at night with an M3.

I own 3 Clavias, 2 Korgs, one Yamaha and one Roland synthesizers.

I also post in docens of different forums, not all music related.

What makes you think that I'm "from Motifator"??

About the buttons, I contacted Korg Spain and they told me that the buttons of my M3 will be changed, free of charge. I'm waiting for now until they contact me again.

Of course. Each of the different Korg Country Distributors provide warranty support, which means defective parts will be replaced during the warranty period.

Even with good Quality Control there are defects that can occur in any keyboard. This is why manufacturers provide warranties in the first place.

Part of the retail price you pay for any product helps "pay" for that warranty support (and also pays for general product/technical support). I had a Roland Fantom XR (rack) that started generating static on certain patches. I took it in for repair and Roland replaced the main circuit board (for free since it was within the warranty period).

Yamaha's are OK but I would hardly classify them as tanks. Rolands are the tanks. Just compare the XR to any other rack ROMpler. It's obvious. Roland uses aluminum where Yamaha would use steel.

The Clavias (Nords) are the worst. I've owned three of them and everyone ended up dented eventhough I can't recall anything ever hitting them. Clavia uses a thin sheet metal. And when an Electro gets dented on the panel, there's a good chance it's going to screw up the controls.

The M3 appears to be a solid piece. Korg is using aluminum where they could be using cheap steel. This is a good thing. If I'm concerned about anything on the M3 it's the durability of the komponent system. How well is it going to hold up over time? I am not particularly concerned about cosmetic issues such as paint on buttons. The buttons still work don't they? That's the important thing. I own an M3 73 and M3 88. So far so good.

I've owned many, many synths. The only ones that have been in the repair shop have been several Yamahas and one Novation.
