Alex,
You are correct and I am wrong. I misread the capability of the Pa2x on page 70. The songbook entry can recall one .mp3 file only and can program up the four STS buttons, but the STS buttons can not be used to play individual .mp3 clips.
Pro_ooo,
My "clever trick" will not work. It was based on mis-reading the Pa2x manual. Sorry to mislead you about .mp3 capabilities.
Regards,
Rob

Hi Keys,
Yes Lyrics within a MIDI or .mp3 file can only be displayed, not edited on the Pa series. But I'd want to use a proper QWERTY keyboard to type and edit lyrics anyway. SO here's a couple of tips ...
1. You can very easily add a Lyrics .txt file with the same name as the MIDI or .mp3 file (ie Greengrass.txt and Greengrass.mp3), and then the text contents will be displayed on screen while the .mp3 file is playing. However, text done this way does not auto-scroll and you have to manually scroll up and down to see the next page. A .txt file can be prepared in minutes using Notepad on a PC.
2. There is a freeware PC based .mp3 file editor available called Zortam Mp3 Media Studio with which lyrics and tags can be inserted into an .mp3 file that perhaps was recorded on the Pa keyboard. Then when you download the edited .mp3 file back to the Pa keyboard, the lyrics will display in time with the music, and will auto-scroll. Here is the link ...

Hi Rob,
Yes I would want to use a normal keyboard as well. There are a few more tips on entering text in a thread on the PA1x forum http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... light=text
I get around the scrolling by simply adding this function to one of the ec5 pedals.
Thanks for the link to that program, looks pretty useful.
Cheers

And we took time and trouble to explain to you how to create and use markers linked to lyrics in both mp3 files and midi files, using external programs. Sorry to hear that this help was not welcomed, so you can be sure that people won't bother in future!Pro_ooo wrote:Very cool .. but .. Hi Pro_ooo
It seems that several have tried to help you but the topic has gone around in circles whilst trying to get an answer. The manual clearly states that song markers can be edited on the PA1XPro for MIDI - this is not possible for MP3 as the PA1XPro has no MP3 editing capabilities (as mentioned earlier).
Cheers
