Os Problems with my pa 1x pro
My pa 1x pro was a victim of an electrical choc. after reparing the engine at our local KORG dealer, I discover some incovinience with my pa1x pro.
1. The keyboard velocity is not setted correctly: the volume of black keys is more important than the white keys.
2. At the starting of the style mode, the keyboard is transposed to the T+8 value (C->G#) while the Transpose value in the screen is setted to 0. (However when I press the C major chord, I find G# value as the recognised chord). Each time, I'm obliged to set the transpose to T-8, in order to find the right tone.
3. At the song play mode, the transpose is fixed at the T-4 value.
4. When insalling the 3.0 ressources, I find many problems with correspondance between names and the real corresponding sounds. Ex: steel guitar sounds as a jazz guitar...(accordion -> harmonica...)
I reinstall the os 3.01 and the ressources 3.0 but all problems persist.
I even try the solution of the SSD reset (when pressing intro1 at the os install)
All my tentatives failed !!
Do you have any ideas for my porblems ?
Thanks in advance

Hi Shark
This really does not sound good. You seem to have done everything I would have done. I would recommend that you get the PA1XPro back to your Korg service agent. If the keyboard was subjected to a power spike, there may be other problems still remaining.
Sincerely hope it is resolved for you. Please let us know how you progress.
Cheers
Pete

Shark. If you live in UK give the guys at Korg Milton Keynes a ring. They may help you over the phone. I found their assistance very good.
I had a fault on my Pa1X which the guys at Korg had a job to sort out. In the end they changed the main board. Luckily I do not live to far from Milton Keynes but to fix the fault I had to take it back 4 times and overall it took about 6 weeks.
Your fault sounds as if you need the help of Korg.

Thank you for your support !
I'm from Tunisia, and unfortunately our local dealer have not a real qualified technical stuff.
According to them, there is some damaged circuits in the mother board.
The solution is to order theses specific circuits from KORG Italy, meanwhile, they replaced my mother board by a new one. When they will receive the circuits, my pa1x pro must return to them, in order to recover my mother board repaired.
The problem is that the waiting period is more and more longer (about 2 months), and I decide to have an intermediate solution by my self.
My only solution is to wait until having my main board repaired.
Thank you again for your support

Hope you get it fixed.
It would seem that a quick fix maybe to change the main board and not bother with parts for it. They changed parts on my main board but that failed to fix the problem on a permanent basis. The fault kept returning.
Since they changed the complete main board that solved the problem fully.
Good luck. Chris.

Can you tell me how much does a new main board cost ?
According to my local dealer a new main board costs about 700 $, contratry to the solution of replacing only the damaged circuits will be much more cheaper.
Really I have no trust in this dealer !! How do you thing ?

Hi Shark,
Korg UK guarantee their work will fix the fault. On the first attempt to fix the fault on my Pa1x I was charged over £100 most of this was labour charges.
When it kept going wrong again they fixed it under the first repair warranty so I never had the bill for the main board or the the other parts they used.
Sorry I cannot be more specific.
I do hope you get your keyboard sorted I know how worrying it can be.
You could request that if your dealer does a repair for you he gives you a written guarantee for the work and if it does not fix the fault or the fault returns within a 3 month period any other work including parts is done free of charge. That is what Korg UK do.
