Help with the effects on a sound

Post by Gflow »

Ok, i tried looking all around, and couldnt find it.

Anyways, for my Technics 6500, it was the "solo" button, which made it so that the keyboard gives you only 1 sound even if 3 keys are pressed.

So on my korg, if im on a certain style of mine, and i have 3 keys pressed down, it will only give me the sound of one of them.

How do i disable this function on my KOrg.

As well, i just uploaded some of the dance sounds from the korgforum website, and ive noticed that alot of the sounds are very very loud compared to the other ones in the set, and even my other sounds on the keyboard. Is there a way i can lower the overall volume of just the sound, and not just while playing a track?
Thank you.

If you have 3 layered sounds playing (in STYLE mode) and you want to switch to one SOUND, you need to "mute" the other SOUNDS or "solo" the selected sound. You can do this by...
1. Selecting the track and then selecting "SoloTrack" from the drop down menu (this can be assigned to a switch or pedal too)
...see pages 97 and 378-380 in the Korg PA1XPro Reference manual
2. Muting the other sounds on the touch screen or by means of assignment buttons or a pedal (like EC5).

Regarding SOUNDS volume - go into SOUND mode and reduce the volumes (levels) for each oscillator until you have the balance you need, then write the sound (also save it to disk if you want to reload it later).

Hope this helps

Pete, i think he is talking about the MONO/POLY function.
Gflow, when in Style Mode click MENU and then TRACK CONTROLS, there
i think on the firt page you'll see MONO, just change it to POLY.

Hi,
In Sound Mode, Menu, Ocs Basic (I think this is right - I'm not with my board at present), Check out how many Oscillators the sound is using. Now lower the LEVEL of each one by the same percentage amount.
For instance if the 1st Oscillator is at 120 and the 2nd at 80, to reduce the volume by 10% the new levels should be 108 and 72.
Then use the drop down menu and save your new settings.
You can also adjust volume levels under the AMP menu.
Hope this helps,
John
