Strange sound while recording

Post by Germanizer »

Hello

I have a problem of such nature that when i record from line out into my microphone-input, i get a weird "aluminium-can"-sound and it almost makes me cry. it's as if there's some kind of effect going or something.
i think it's concentrated on the lower notes.
when i play with headphones or an amplifier it's no problem. only when i record. anyone knows what the problem could be?
wish i could upload a sample, but everything works against me right now :D

Much love
Thomas

EDIT: The sound seemed to have emmanated from weak cables. Problem solved =)

Some things I can tell:

1. make sure input switch is set to "LINE"
2. assuming You're in Sampling mode: go to P0->Input setup and make sure BUS for both Input1 and Input2 is set to "L/R".
3. do You hear the "can-effect" while monitoring during recording or only in recorded material? If there is any feedback suspicion, turn Volume slider down to 0 or try putting your headphones (plug it directly into TEX headphone input) and mute any speaker output during recording.

Best regards,
