Yes yes yes yes yes yes..... coool

finally 5 minutes of fame on my EMX

please do count me in too. Artist name = Terrapee

:D

By the way:

Would it really be fair to be able to use an Electribe ES-1, ES-1mkII or ESX-1? Because they're samplers people could put any audiostream/samples that were not made on an Electribe. For instance professional/commercial/copyrighted loops/phrases/speech and all sorts.

Maybe a seperate competition for 'normal' Electribes and Electribe samplers would be a fairer idea??????
 :?: :!:

i will provoke the first s***talking(in gest of course)...*clears throat*
i dont care if you use a sampla or not. you better bring everything you got...i making this monumental.....

*runs away laughing at myself*

anyway, i think tit should be all for one. becuase some people dont need samples becuase they would rather have 5 layers of melodies and rhythms.
if someone uses high dollar loops they better hope it dont get beat by someone who uses the factory shiite... so whatevers ya got bring it.
it dont matter to jesus

if one is unfair to the other then you have no tallent with the other ;). A good musician will make you groove on any box/software if they play with it for a half an hour.

edit:
I should add that the idea is to judge by skill relative to the particular electribe of choice for the contest.... not from what can be done with two ;) because I tell you, esx+emx can do quite a bit of crazyness with almost no effort...

and besides... how are you going to judge a two electribe entry versus one with just one, it just makes it that much more complicated....

okay folks......two more tweakers added. just one more slot left.

sorry i've been away for a while, have been pretty fooking ill. seem to be on the mend now :D (was looking like i may have to have surgery for christmas rather than some wii games  )

will wait until we get one more contender before i close it off. no socks thankyou.

i suggest that we use www.soundclick.com to host tunes and the battle threads, as well as use their fairly large traffic as voters. if you dont know the site, i'd recommend it, the forums are great for meeting other producers, getting advice and reviews/crit of your stuff.

samples are fine, but copyright must be adhered to. in fact, have a look at the sample rules i've linked to in the first post and you'll see details 'bout dat.

over and out

just had a look at virb. thats a nice site! never seen it before. for the sake of the tourney, i'm gonna run with soundclick, cos they already have averything we need in terms of tournament forum space and a dedicated mod for our little tourney. they've updated the interface and included video recently so u may be pleasantly surprised. i'll do an edjits guide to setting up an account and uploading. i know the site quite well so can help out if anyone has any probs. if folks want to host tunes anywhere else thats groovy :D

we now have our 16, if anyone else is interested then they can keep the subs bench warm in case of a no show. check the new thread for rules *coming soon*

Sorry I didn't post back before, but can you change my name for this competition to my artist name LD 120?

Also, where do we upload entries and when do we have to have them done by. I've got a tune ready to go now, but the more time for tweaking, the better.

It sure is going to be hard to compete against those sampling machines, coz their pallette of sounds is unlimited, but I'm going to push my little EMX1 to the limit to at least give y'all some competition.
