Dubstep on EMX?

Post by guyus »

Hi there! I just joined this forum and i was just wondering if anyone tried to do some dubstep on the emx-1. I like to try and make some now and then, you can get some pretty nice wobbly sounds from the oskillatas (although i have some trouble with the modulation)

Dubstep being a minimal type of music fits the electribe quite nice i think, although i hate some of the esx drum-part sounds... i would be very interested in your experience and some tips, maybe a track-snippet to listen to? easy

esx or emx? topic is called on emx you are talking about esx having bad drum sounds....

you can make any style of music on the emx, and also on the esx.... and yes dubstep is one of them I have done it several times it's not bad at all for it.

I do not, but actually after some creative tweaking the emx drum sounds can be really nice, I can't get over the hi hats tho they're too snappy and stick out way too much. You have to either bring volume down, invert the amp modulation, or worse, pitch em way up...

Dubstep ??
I dont really do broken/jungle dubstep much anymore , im more for the same sounds but with 4x4 now ( when i got into jungle i hated 4x4 !! ) .

if u want better timed out wobbles n stuff tho , try sttin ur cutoff about cowboy time ( 9:50 ) and using bpm sync on modulation ( square wave ) while setting the depth into +/- , and find the timing that suits .

Set ur eg time/int appropriately to ur sound and u should get some nice wobbly/filtered b-lines .

p.s. I more refer to my stuff as bassline/garage ( not cheesy vocaly crap ), i find dubstep/grime a bit hard to swallow . Been making dubstep/grime/garage/sublow since about 2000 n Still not liking any of names .... lets follow the metal kids n call it " Nu-acid " ... lol :) ...
Actually f*ck the names ......
