Huge sample library (almost!) for free.

Post by Dimedrol »

Hi, guys!

Look what I have found at eBay:
"SAMPLES & PCG for KORG TRITON & TR - DIRECT DOWNLOAD"
http://tinyurl.com/34g7m9

This guy sell tons of loadable (even without Sample Option!) PCG samples.
I have NOT tested this seller, but, I think we need to do that.

What do you think?

Why don't we "unite our forces" to get all of them ?

Let's duscuss this "project" here!

No no, just curious on what the details are. It just seems a little vague, that's all. For example, it could just be IA's samples being resold for all we know. I'm just curious as to what they are and what they sound like.

I have asked this question to this guy, but dont you think it's much easier to buy several packages and try it for yourself?

Chances are the sounds where created by something like Sample Robot or Extreme Sample Converter.
These are programs that can automatically go off and sample entire keyboards all on their own.

So, the question is, are they legal. If that's what has happened here, then they are not legal.

Regards.
Sharp.

I'm not saying I think it's bogus, just wierd.

What if I was selling tires at a great price but I don't advertise what kind they are... would be odd. And what if someone asked and you didn't tell them... sounds mighty strange to me.

I personally think we are all a little starved for new sample data... Wouldn't it be nice if Korg gave a nice little Christmas present to its ever-so-loyal customers? Do they celebrate Christmas in Japan?

OK, guys.
I have bought 1 pack - "05 Woodwinds"

Hear the MP3 demo (~0.8mb):
http://www.sitecommander.org/downloads/ ... s_demo.mp3

In this demo I use 2 samples:
"BASSOON FP" in the bass line and "OBOE DAMORE" as lead sound

Here is these 2 samples and SNG file (~4mb)
http://www.sitecommander.org/downloads/ ... s_demo.zip

the only tuning I have done to these samples is - I have tuned "Release time" parameter at - PROG 5.2: Ed-Amp1(or 2) EG: Release time.
There was 64, and I set 15.

Code: Select all

Contents of woodwinds_demo.zip

<DIR> BASSOON FP
            54 BASSOON FP.KSC
        69.224 BASSOON FP.pcg
<DIR> OBOE DAMORE
            40 OBOE DAMORE.KSC
        69.224 OBOE DAMORE.pcg
        11.056 WOODWNDS.SNG
6 File(s)
2 Dir(s)
So... What will be our decision ?!

P.S.
Brief contents of the whole pack - http://www.sitecommander.org/downloads/ ... ntents.txt

It looks like the guy has ripped the samples from other keyboards.... (From what I understand)

Isn't this a bit illegal?

Also I think it would be illgeal to "unite our forces" too...

Damn I want those choirs haha.
