Hi guys.
I am considering buying a Pa800 to add to my Triton Extreme 76. Can anyone tell me what the keybed is like in the PA though, is it like the extreme or is it one of those rubbish Fatar beds like in the Triton LE or PA50 etc?
Also are the buttons decent quality or are they the cheaper ones also that tend to break after a while and need to be pressed really hard?
Any help would be much appreciated thanks
Honestly.....its All a matter of personal opinion...
I love the PA800 keyfeel on mine, I like a lighter touch....you'll probably hate it judging by your post......this is something you have to decide for yourself by playing them..not by listening to others.
Good luck keep us posted on what you decide on.
Thanks for that Dnj, by what you say I assume the PA800 has a similar key feel to Triton LE etc? Unfortunately there is nowhere local I could go and try one out for myself. I was hoping maybe someone had used both the PA800 and Tyros 2, and could shed some light on things for me. Basically I would like to know if they are both really similar, as I really like the keys on the Tyros 2

I have had both recently still have the PA800. I think the Tyros 2 touch is better than the Pa800, but..........the features and live sound, as well as many other features made the PA800 the choice for me. I had played Yamaha boards( still have a Clavinova CVP307 at home that I plan on keeping because of it's great action and piano sounds) But, for playing live the PA800 has a more live sound versus the polished sound of the Tyros2. You may not like the light action of the PA800, but you're gonna love the live sound.
Thanks very much for all of your replies, you've been very helpful. I am pretty sure now I would really dislike the keybed of the PA800. I think maybe I should save up more money and get a PA2X, possibly sell the Extreme if the PA2X synth sounds are up to the job. If only all keyboards were built as well as the CVP's eh Stephen?
It would be so much easier to throw the cash at them, rather than weighing up all the pro's and con's.

You're right about the CVP. it's very well built, but not portable. Portability comes at a price.
Dealer specific - Give Dolphin Music a call and if you want a 3yr warranty they will provide one at extra cost. I think Korg standard warranty is 1 yr.
Thanks Rob, I figured as much but was worth asking hehe. I will give Dolphin a call and see how much they can do one for with 3 year warranty. I also found a place called Thomann which sells the PA2X for £2015 with 3 year warranty. They seem to be based in Germany but selling in the UK, not sure if I should be worried about that or not
I think Korg give 2 years in the US on all their products Bernie if you register. Unfortunately in the UK we get shafted on price and warranty lol. I only got 12 months on my Triton Extreme last year, even when I registered it.
Sorry to bring up the topic again, but someone told me the PA800 has the same keybed as the 61 key M3. I managed to play an M3 locally, and I thought although light the keys felt great. Can anyone confirm this or is it a different set of keys in the PA800. Thanks again for your help
Maybe this will help.
I have a pa800 and indeed the keybed is like the pa80.
What i did is because a keybed is very personal i bought a extern midi semi wheight keyboard. So what I do is match my Layer 3 what's always piano etc.. to the midi-board and i use the usb kabel to powerup the midi-board. So i have the PA800 with two flats with one of them has my personal keybed.
Thank you for your reply Sanjai, unfortunately I never saw a PA80 either lol. Although I assume by what you say the PA80 was an earlier board, the M3 has a new keybed in, so I imagine it's not the same one in PA800?
