Hey boys.. bought a midisport uno..and was wondering how to get started with the microKORG editor..

It doesn't seem to do anything when plugged in. Where do I start? Thanks!

Did you install the USB-midi driver for the MIDISPORT?

Maybe you need to uninstall and reinstall it, or download the latest driver from M-Audio.

Once you get the driver working, then the midi in and out ports should show up in the microKorg SoundEditor software under the Setting/MIDI Devices... menu option. You just need to assign the INs and OUTs to match between the software and the drivers. If the MIDISPORT midi channels don't show up on the list, then go back to M-Audio to see if they have any way to confirm that the drivers are working properly.

Thanks so much! Ugh.. i feel like such an amateur. I forgot to assign the midi ports. I'm sure that's what it is, as I have the latest drivers.

I switched to Mac in August, and while I'm really familiar with them.. I guess I'm still learning some stuff. Thanks for your help! I really didn't expect to see any replies.

Now..the question is...how do I send MS2000B patches to the microKORG. You know.. swap out patches. I've got the SYSEX Librarian and I hit play. It sends the information....somewhere... and I notice no difference on any of my micro's banks.

How do I go about doing this?

Hi jojo, the help system in the SoundEditor is pretty good. It has quite a few screenshots and step by step instructions.

I think you need to use "Copy" of a program in the library and then click on MyDevice and "Paste". It will then ask you to confirm and then show a box that lets you change the target program position. I'm not exactly sure because I don't have the MicroKorg. I have the R3 and X50. Hope ya get it working! Don't give up. Using editor/librarian software is a great way to get a lot more out of the hardware and to learn how it _really_ works.

Hey guys! I figured out the (albeit rather obvious) problem. I forgot to turn off Memory Protect on the microKORG.

Sorry for all the hassle.

No hassle here, just glad you got it going.
