X5D manual reset?

Hi, My X5D will not boot any more, I just get black rectangles at the top of the green LED, I think I left it too long in the trunk of my car in the heat, my bad. Is there a way to manually reset it? or am I taking to a repair shop? Thanks, Mark

You can perform a reset by Holding Page+ and Page - while turning on. Alternatively you can try pressing Inc and Dec while utrning on, this is the test mode.

Though I think it's rather a hardware defect. You can open your X5D and check, if all cables and chips are still fixed, though I think it's rather a chip-internal defect here... Or the display is broken.

Thanks for the reply. I did get it repaired but now the Bank A programs are gone replaced by InitProg. The hard reset=Midi Warning:OUT x IN. Can I download the sounds?

Best way is via sysex messages. Mid OX on WinOS or Sysex Librarian on Mac OS

thanks for the advice, I do have a mac with OS X.5 and I see I can download Sysex Librarian several different places but what then? Will it be obvious what to do? Also the Combo programs are gone replaced by InitCombo...

To restore the presets simply go the GLOBAL page 05A, select "OK?" and click "YES" twice.
