Hi all,

i have been a Korg arranger keyboard owner since 1998, up to that i had yamaha, kwai, alesis, roland (i also once had a peavey "shudder" lest said the better!) and used to sequence styles for my performances then i saw a guy using an is50 live and was hooked, later that year i scraped the money together for an i30 and i joined the wonderful world of performing with full performance flexability.
since the i30 i have been fortunate enough to be able to upgrade to the pa80 (fantastic keyboard) then the PA1X (exceptional) i have looked at alternatives over the last ten years like the tyros, va-76, soloton etc, every time i come back to korg!

to the point:

i have built up a pretty good library of styles and performances and spare parts and have an OK knoweledge of the workings of the korg pa keyboards,
BUT....i continualy struggle to find good styles in the genres i like to play and perform which are: modern rock, midwest rock, gospel, r&b, hiphop, mostly contempory - i have created quite a few but as i have been using these styles evey week for the last ten years i crave new styles to use, i have a time consuming job a family and lead a small church, so i don't get the time to work on style like i used to,

can anyone help me.....Please!
i would be glad to share any of my resources with the community,

it's the same with me! Always coming back since 87.
In the past we've had several threads here
- describing a poor style support related to
the lifetime of a state of the art KORG key.

Some switched to roland therefore.
(Also because of of their fraction of more modern styles
in their keys).

In the meantime KORG shows a brilliant small portion
of modern styles in their keys - but much too less
in my opinion

May be that continuous talking about this inside
the forum motivates KORG to do some more in this regard.

I am just curious....
What exactly do you want Korg to do?
I currently have around 700 styles "ready to play" on my PA1XPro and literally hundreds more I could use but haven't had the chance to try them all as yet.
I am currently enjoying the Xprodata XMS1 and XMS2 boards - even more styles and many of the original ones brilliantly modified (some completely new) - it's like having a new keyboard....
I think my PA1XPro will bio-degrade before I get to use all of the styles I now have.

Do you want Korg to develop styles to suit specific songs?

As I said, I am just curious.....

Totally there are about 50 new styles since 2002
to be found in the latest keys. Except those
the content is PA80 stuff.

Not one new for the PA80 since then for ex.

So you know what I mean.

(Same thing with rolands top keys. But at their
low budget keys it looks different - in a positive way).

And last but not least: I don't like running converted stuff,
I want the styles from my favourite manufacturer -
and thats KORG.

I share your frustrations also.......This is the reason why I started www.createsongstyles.com. When you first get your new board, its exciting, its new, and it has different styles but it don't take long to tire of them..

The logic behind our site, is to primarily concern ourselfs with the creation of styles from smf's. This can be done but it takes time. I call it a "labor of love" because you have to be patient doing this. With some work and a minor learning curve, you can create a specific style from a smf. The tools are there, it's just a process that has to be followed. There is software out there that will help you to about 95% of completion, but its the last 5% that takes time and expertise to truly produce a Pro sounding style.

We have not reached our goals yet, but everyday we get bigger and add more content to read and help us complete our goals.
