Excellent,so if thats the case then please for the sake of keeping this thread on track what do you think of the Fantom G?massivevst wrote:
anyway i'm not one person of the lionstracs company, just a custumer
Our releases don't always line up with the trade shows, but there were two new fairly big things (one of them physically quite small): the Kaoscillator, and the Vox Guitars.LEVEL4 wrote:Don't mean to take this thread off-topic, and I'm certainly excited to continue to discuss more topics regarding the Fantom-G, but were there any significant product announcements by Korg at this winter's NAMM?
Thanks, Dan! Didn't realize you were a Korg Product Manager (new avatar, maybe?). Always great to see Korg management online! If only other manufacturers would follow suit and maintain some customer presence online. Only from Korg and Access do I see actually company employees posting in the forums.danatkorg wrote:Our releases don't always line up with the trade shows, but there were two new fairly big things (one of them physically quite small): the Kaoscillator, and the Vox Guitars.
You've prompted me to do a little research on the PC3. It looks like they will eventually release it - according to the Kurz developers the hardware is done and the software is almost done. Things always take longer than people think, but the current expected ship date is end of Feb/March.vEddY wrote:Nope, it doesn't, which is a bit sadtcornishmn wrote: Does the M3 have the CX3 in it? I didn't think it did. I am interested in the PC3x, but as far as I know it's still vaporware, like a lot of Kurzweil things. Also, generally I play 76-key boards due to the fact that organ glisses are painful on weighted keys and the 50lb Oasys 76 is heavy enough.Organs are good, really, but CX-3 is - hm, well - CX-3
It pretty much rocks. As far as PC3 is concerned, I'm gonna check out what the heck they're doing a bit later. Good idea, actually. They're so screwed up, I kind of lost interest last year, but I sure as hell hope that they're not "selling" us slideware, AMD style...
I do agree that O76 is heavy and maybe a bit pricey to be a second keyboard, but in general, I would go with it if you can afford it. I know that doing organ stuff on weighted hurts - hell, I've been doing it all the time - but that's the general tradeoff people have to be aware of when buying either one of those. For me, if it's 76 synth-action, there's no way I could play a piano, I'm a classical pianist so
Anytime. I think that, as a person, I do prefer KORG stuff - I just find the way that interface works on KORG is much more to my liking as a musician. But that doesn't stop me from having at least some sort of professional opinion about other companies' products I would have many more thoughts if I didn't have to fight a bit to get them to let me touch the PC3. That wasn't really enjoyable, although I always respected Kurz stuff and I have no problems giving kudos to them for the work they've done on many of their products in the past. Except for the K2661 thingy, but we already discussed that in detail on this forumtcornishmn wrote: You've prompted me to do a little research on the PC3. The other thing I have fallen in love with on the Oasys is the ability to create combis where the IFX settings follow the patches. I can't say enough how important that is - the main reason I sold my old K2600 was that it was so hard to build combis with effects. If they have an Oasys-like "Copy from Program" function, I think I've found my backup in the PC3.
Thanks for your thoughts on the Kurz.
