I have an industrial sample disc I bought a while back. For that matter, I have the Brazil motion picture sound track and I'd like to import wav or other audio into the sampler. How do I do that? Do any of you import loops or use 3rd party samples from a cd to create music with? I have tried to use as much of the sounds in the triton but now I'm a little bored with the sounds that come with it. Hopefully, I'll be able to use the sampling capabllites to create basically any sounds I want or if I hear anything I can find on a cd or loop disc and use that to create with.
So far it takes me a lot of work just to create a multisample out of 3rd party samples. You want to try to buy one in WAV format. If you have a program to loop these sounds such as seamless looper, or something like that, edit the file and set the loop points up (otherwise you can do this from the Triton by ear and sight, not quite as time-efficient). Then copy the samples to your CF card, and then load them into sample RAM.
Most sample libraries come with some sort of keymap, so you have to manually assign each sample to a set of keys. Korg uses a different system than other synthesizers, so keep in mind a sample named after C3 will be C4 on the Triton. You'll have to compensate for this as you assign each sample to key zones. After you've completed all these, you should have 1 fully functional multisample. Now you just have to do this 50 more times with each sound, and if you wish, create a program for each one (haha even more complicated).
It's a lot easier if you can find a Korg Triton-specific library, because then you don't have to worry about looping and key mapping... just load it up and it's all done for you. Hope this helps, and maybe you can find a much more efficient routine that doesn't feel so much like re-inventing the wheel.
