PA1XPRO resets the lower voice when changing STS
Hello to all Korg lovers....
I have had my PA1XPRO since April 2004, but I just found this excellant site. I play for fun, and do some entertaiment out as well.
I really love the PA1XPRO!
It has many wonderful features....
I have discovered a major problem in the way the PA1 works.
I saw an earlier post on this subject but I want to re-open it. When you play a performance, using lets say an STS that has strings in the lower, then want to change the upper voices during the song, using an STS button, the PA1 resets everything, even though the lower settings sre exactly the same with my new STS as the original.
This is a major problem, and one that will not work out for me. It is very common to play the left (using hold or not) then want to keep that chord and accompanyment going while using a different set of voices on the upper. Even my old HS series Yamaha organ (1980's) worked fine in this regard.
If the new STS would change ONLY the items that are different from the current STS, it would work fine.
Korg engineers... please tell me it can be changed.
Thanks, very much.
Lee

This was the thread I started on this major issue
http://www.irishacts.com/forum/phpBB2/v ... highlight=
I had just one response, but an authoritative one.
I have been trying to work with it, since many aspects of this board are wonderful, but the Korg engineers just don't seem to understand the extent of this problem. To me it is absolutely impossible in a live situation to change upper voice given how difficult the touch sensitive screen is to uuse, the STS is the only option. Your professional reputation is at stake if you screw up because you press the wrong control.

well myself is also upset with this matther, but, I also found, if under STYLE PLAY preference, somme settings must be left open, for example, say CHORD, and be saved into a Performance...It's time consuming, and, maybe Korg could make a differnet approche on the way to deal with the LOWER..
Also, for the PADS, I would love to have a function to be able to stop them, not when switching to another single touch setting or else, because, I really love the PAD stuff

Oasys 76, serial 000800 and Korg PA1 X PRO
Mr. Tramannoni PLEASE RESPOND.
I love many things about the PA1XPRO, and I commend Korg for all the fine updates we have enjoyed, HOWEVER....
The issue of the lower sound resetting when we change STS with the same lower sound in the new STS as the old one is a big problem. We can't possibly play this way!
The whole idea of the STS is to be able to hit one button during play to get different sounds for that part of the song etc.
To have it reset the notes we are holding when we change STS is terrible. Even my old Yamaha organ (HSt-8, 1980's vintage) didn't have that problem when changing the presets (like an STS).
The PA1APRO should keep the lower, not reset it on a change to a new STS. If the lower voice is DIFFERENT then it should reset it only when the keys are relesed and the any new one played.
This is a show stopper for me to keep the PA1XPRO. As I play lots of music where I want to keep playing the lower while changing the voices for the rest of the keyboard.
Please tell us that this can and will be fixed in a future release of software.
Thanks,
Lee

I fully agree !
Hello Guys,
You are right, this should be fixed asap!
I'm a newbie on the PA1XPRO and still exploring it, but this resetting is pretty annoying

Please read mr. Tramanonni's reply

PraisetheLord's thread got an answer about the resetting.
With SoundSelect ON you can change sounds while holding down keys. The next 'new' pressed key will produce the new selected sound.
In Perfomance Select mode this is NOT possible !!

Immediate resets happen and sounding notes are killed right away.
I cannot accept this as a 'feature' mr. Tramanonni and this needs a fix.
thanks,

Re: PA1XPRO resets the lower voice when changing STS
Hi Lee,
I forwarded your request to the techies. I doubt it can be done, but we'll see.
Best regards,
Paolo

The PA1X OS 2.54 Operating System upgrade manual says on page 2
"Lower Track held when changing performance or STS
If you keep a chord held in the Lower area of the keyboard, then select a different Performance or STS, the Lower sound is not stopped until you release your hand from the keyboard.
Note: The above is not true, if the Performance or STS changes the Lower track's Octave Transose"
I don't know about the PA800 or PA2X.
The manual can be found at
