Loading .wav samples into SEQ w/o expansion card

Post by jk22 »

I've read elsewhere that all I need to import wav samples into SEQ mode is a full 64mb RAM, and that no sample expansion is necessary. If this is true, what is the advantage of purchasing the expansion card for $200 when the RAM is less expensive?

the EXB-SMP lets you record and engineer (cut, trim, loop, whatever) samples inside the workstation
RAM is still needed anyway

Thanks for your help, Voltan.

So I would need to buy 64mb RAM in addition to the EXB-SMPL card in order to edit my samples inside the TR, and record from like a turtable/cd player?

But if I want to just use a software program like Ableton Live 6 to edit my .wav samples, then I can save those samples from Ableton as a wav file on my SD card, and load them into the SEQ on the TR (w/ only 64mb RAM, no exb-smpl)?

Once the samples are loaded from the SD card how do I assign them to specific keys within SEQ mode?

Thanks, your help is much appreciated.
