MicroKontrol: Best Program for naturally recording w/ pads?

Post by SeanMac »

I bought my MicroKontrol about a year and a half ago. It as the 16 touch pads, 8 knobs, and 8 sliders but I have been crazy busy with school and haven't had a chance to use it except for some testing in Fruityloops. The MN is MC-1 .

I am in search of a program that can assign sounds and effects to my touch pads and knobs with an intuitive recording interface. I am no computer noob, so can handle programming for a good recording experience (just a audio recording noob ). I just want to use these pads to lay down some good bars in a natural way, then choose the best bars to lopp, and be able to use a mic to record some guitar and eventually vocals.

Anyone have any good suggestions? I would love to utilize this beautiful keyboard.

Thanks for any input, it would be appreciated!

the best standalone software will be Ableton Live! I think.
If you want to use a plugin drum-machines - then ACID PRO6.

and for playing / editing / making drumsets and loopsets I propose Native Instruments Battery3 - which can work as standalone and also work as a plug-in

I use all three of them :)
