Will.i.iam Using The Oasys

Post by Ultimate Dj »

Hello,
I was watching CBS last night and saw a Celine Dion concert. She had Josh Groban and a bunch of other people. Then she had Will.i.iam from the Black Eyed Peas do a song with her. And he was playing the Oasys!
I can't find pictures yet but'll keep looking. :D
Just thought that'd u people would want to know! :)

lol. But I have to disagree with you Sharp. Of course there is plenty of 'artists' out there that just throw a bunch of rhyming words together and a generic beat and call it a song. But if you hear songs by Timbaland or Kayne West and they do have some talent. Timbaland is an incredible MUSICIAN! Hes the only one that does anything different with his songs.
As for the downloading part.....if they download it in a creative new way then of course their musicians! :D

I know. I guarrentte you that he saw that I was using it and was like "omg Ultimate DJ owns one??? I must have one!" and so he went out and bought it.
Can i sue him for that? He's got the money. Lets team up to bring the sucker down!

Sharp.

Ah yes. The lyrics to most Hip Hop/Rap songs are very crappy. :( But lyk i said earlier. There are some that can actually play music. As in Timbaland featuring One Republic called Apologize
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHfyDxy8 ... re=related
or
Timbaland Featuring Nelly Furtado called Say It RIght
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AO6SnX9s5-w
Lyrics are pretty good. and the music rocks. The music of The Way I Are is awesome! the lyrics are stupid;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWg3IMN_rhU
There are Hip Hop songs that have cool lyrics. No one by Alicia Keys or With You by Chris Brown.
But of course most songs are crappy. :D
So Sharp what is your genre of choice?

The lyrics to most POP/CHART music are throwaway, and that's rather the point ;-) It's not supposed to be Milton or Yeats :-)

The commercial hip/hop I've heard is no worse than a lot of commercial rock or pop IMO. If you're looking for great music you need to dig a little and you'll find great stuff in all genres, hip/hop included.

Very true Daz. Very true indeed. :D But Hip hop as a norm sings about worse stuff than Pop or Rock Country...etc.
The one Genre of music that I do not consider music or the people who make it, musicians is Heavy Metal. There is no skill involved with that crap. Its screaming into a microphone and bashing a guitar and drum. That music is absolutely horrible!!!!
In case you were wondering....which...of course ...you were!  :D

can't stand this anymore... we can't compare MUSIC (heavy metal... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_metal)
with rythmic spoken words... please I know that many people out there can't stand heavy metal but it has nothing to do with something that isn't music at all like hip hop rap and similar kind of ehm... shows.
regards, Lorenzo
p.s. no heavy metal? no iron maiden but no deep purple too...

That's not really a good argument...

There's good stuff and bad stuff in every genre (including hip hop and heavy metal)... the problem is that in mainstream music it's usually the bad stuff that sells ;)

My problem with Sharp's statement was that it was so "blanketed"; which I personally took offense to. One person doesn't define music, nor does any one genre. It's perfectly fine that he doesn't like (nor respect) hiphop. I am curious now however, to see what Will may have played on the O that wasn't considered music. :? One person's music is another's noise I suppose.

Since you're such the authority Sharp, please educate me on what fully qualifies a musician to be considered a musician.
