Mixers

Post by Ade »

Hi everyone.
Have been playing many years with my keyboard, old amp and trusty NS10s.
I am now branching out (at last!) and just got some powered monitors.
As I am also going to buy a new synth I need to get a mixer.
What type of mixer do I need so I can connect both the powered monitors and the old amp? Can someone tell me what I am looking for?

Any help greatly appreciated.

it's important to know how much you want to spend cos there are plenty of mixers out there that can do what you need... but the price range is really big...

up to £200
I have had a good look around but I just need to know if it will have outputs for both active and passive monitors.

How can I tell?

I can put here a link to a yamaha mixer MG124C http://www.yamaha-europe.com/picture_ar ... gh_jpg.jpg
with this one you have a stereo out (xlr and jack) a recording output (rca) and a control room output plus group output... maybe too much for your needs... cos you have compressor too on the first two channel... if you sing too maybe it's a good solution.

Hi Lorenzo

Thanks for your time
I will take a look but would you be so kind as to look at the Mackie DFX6 or 12 and tell me if this would work?

I can only see main outputs on that mackie... I don't know if the xlr bypass the jack output if you plug all the cables... you should try it, but it has no indipendent output like the yamaha (I've linked you the yamaha but there can be other mixers out there with an indipendent output such as control room or similar...)
