New member! Hello and help with muting a sound

Post by andrew.claridge »

Hi everyone

I am really pleased with the sound quality of my new X50. Great!! I have read the manual and am geting to grips with editing sounds - creating combos etc.

One thing I can't work out is how to set up a switch or button to instantly mute a program (that is forming part of a combi). ie. I would like to have a combi with Strings and Piano. I would like to be able mute the strings part and then include it quickly by un-muting. I hope this is possible or is there a better way?

Thanks and I look forward to being part of the forum.

I don't use Combinations so I can't be sure whether or not this can be done. My solution would be to copy the patch to the next preset number and have one with strings and the other without. Then you just need to quickly change presets.

not sure,
perhaps you can assign one of the front panel knobs to be string volume?
the x50 has 2 assignable switches... perhaps they can be used?

Thanks both for your reply. Bones, your suggestion makes sense and I think that may be the easiest way of doing it. I have looked at assigning the switches to volume but without any sucess yet!...

Thanks

hi iam a micro x user and do this with my combis as i do not no how the x50 compares to the micro x its hard to say but i press the + button to get to the ediit page which shows all 8 programs which you can select which ones are on or off here is a video of me using korg and mo6 arps
i start without the drums then turn them on with the dial so sure it can be done with x50
