favourites?

Post by 4NDRW »

there was an extra tiny booklet that came with my micro-x
and talked about the favourites option added in with an OS update...

...i didn't read it, and then lost it

i couldn't see this booklet online

anyone wanna go through the favourites thing for me?
or scan the booklet and upload it?

(or find it online, maybe i'm just a dumb c*nt)

anyways, any help would be appreciated.

trying to find alternatives to rearranging my programs.
because i hate how it messes up all those combi's i hardly use.

Basically - you have 10 favourite slots available.

To add a favourite, hold the "-" button and press any of the 1-10 buttons to assign the current sound to that slot.
To go to a favourite, press the "./HOLD" button thrice - you'll notice that a black "FAVOURITE" appeared on the LCD. When it is lit, you will jump to your favourites just via pressing 1-10.
However when "FAVOURITE" is active, you cannot assign favourites via "-", so you'll just have to press "./HOLD" to cancel it.

As an alternative you can visit the last page of your Global Settings.

That might work for an X-50 but a microX doesn't have 1-10 buttons. AFAIK there is no favourites function on the microX unless, as 4NDRW said, it has been put into a firmware update. Have there been any of those?

thanks for that Tiayviel

but yeh, no numpad on micro-x
so after reading your post, i just kept trying all sorts of button combinations till i found it :P

yes you can access the favourites as that last page on the global menu
it is divided between 2 pages, "upper" has 5 slots, and refers to using the 5 program buttons

"lower" has another 3 slots, and refers to the combi buttons
so thats 8 favourites slots in total.

or a short cut to assign is:
hold [CANCEL] and tap one of the [PROG] or [COMBI] bank buttons

to access them, hold [CANCEL] and tap [GM]
all the combi/prog bank buttons will light up
the word "favourites" appears on part of the screen.
and you can tap the bank buttons to access the relevant patches :)

very cool!

worth stickying?

@ Keyboardz

Are you asking whether it's possible to add the Favourites-function to the X50? Yes, it is via an OS update available at KORG's website.

Hold on - I found the OS update on the website of KORG Germany/Austria. Call me stupid but I haven't been able to locate it neither on Korg.com nor Korg.uk.com - you might want to look for yourself. If you're interested, here is the link to the German site:

http://www.korg.de/x50-betriebssystem.html

I hope I'm not violating any forum rules here.

As far as I remember, the installation is in English - feel free to contact me if that's not the case or if there are any other language-related hurdles you might need help to get over :D (that's if your not German-speaking, of course)

Hope this helps
