New 15mb Smooth Piano Sound Set Available for Download

Post by Reuben »

I have a new Piano Sound Set consisting of 16 pianos based on modified versions of both the factory pianos and Korg's Grand Touch Pianos. The set contains RX versions for that nice pedal down resonance effect as well as non-RX versions if you are concerned with polyphony.
The main change from previous versions is the inclusion of some nice smooth pianos which seem to be lacking in the past.
On most RX pianos I have eliminated the key-release noise as this is generally a waste of polyphony (but kept the pedal-down resonance). Those pianos with RXX in the name have all effects.
This is a smaller set so it doesn't have the steinways but if you have 32mb ram you could still keep Alex's steinways as well as this set. (You should be using operating system Version 3.01 from Korg as some pianos use 12 to 15 oscillators - not to be confused with polyphony - maximum polyphony use is 4 per note so don't panic!)

To use this new set go to the rapidshare link below:
http://rapidshare.com/files/95450953/Sm ... T.zip.html
Choose the Free Download option and type in the code supplied by the site. Once it has downloaded you need to unzip the file to obtain the SmoothPianosMCH08.SET folder (without the .zip extension).
After backing up your Pa1x, copy the folder to your Pa1x harddrive.
{Its probably a good idea to clear your Ram before loading (Sound Mode, Record, dropdown Menu, Delete, choose All Samples Multisamples Drum samples, dropdown menu, Exit from record,Yes.}
Now to Load: Disk, Load Tab, select the set to load and here you can do either 1) Load (easier option - just loads all 16 pianos to the first 2 pages of User 1. OR 2) Choose where you want to load them by choosing OPEN, Sound, Open, User 1, Open, then choose the sounds and Load them to where you want.
Enjoy :D ,
John

Hi John,

Any chance of a 32 Mb version including Alex's steinways?

Hi Rob,
No problem - give me a few days and I'll post it - or if you Open this set you could selectively load them and leave the Steinways in place.
All the best,
John

Here is the 27mb set that includes all the above plus the best 8 Steinways. It will load to the first 3 pages of User 1.

John,

Thank you very much - I very much appreciate your hard work to constantly improve these piano's. Also, many of the holidaymakers in Corfu who heard the sounds (from your last Reuben set) during one of our "Songs of Praise" events said how nice the piano sounded.

Yes, thanks Reuben!!!!!!

This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for - a good range of pianos but taking out a few not-necessarily-needed-sounds so I have room to put other samples in!!!!

Great ongoing support for this great ongoing keyboard!

G'day hellboy,
If you're after a set that only uses around 3mb its possible to load sounds numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 11 and 12 that use modified versions of the factory piano (Rom) plus the RX effects from the Grand Touch set (Ram). You would start with empty ram and open and load only these 9 sounds one at a time - then save this as a new set. A good set if you want really quick loading and want to leave most of your ram free. The downside is that you wouldn't have the modified grand touch pianos which add another dimension to you your sounds.
Regards,
John

Well I used the Pianos (as many as I could) for the first time last night at a gig.

FANTASTIC.

The Bright Euro is probably going to be my Go-To for Honky Tonkish Country songs.

As for the rest, they all sounded fantastic - just have to narrow it down now for individual Genres/Songs.

Anyway, what a GREAT collection - thanks again Reuben.

Just wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!
