Prog Volume versus Combi Volume - problem

Post by voodoo »

Right here is the issue this week :- volume sounds in Combi mode compared to PROG mode.

For example take the B001 Piano Prog sound - nice and loud when I play it - volume is set at the highest.

Now go to Combi C127 (ie empty combi) , select the B001 prog sound as the first (and only) sound in your Combi, and set the internal volume level to max (ie value of 127). Also make sure you have copied in the effects of the B001 PROG piano - Now compare the volumes

The PROG volume level for some reason is always higher - any ideas why that is - and how to fix ?

I know there are issues with this problem... But the example you said doesn't show this well... I tried it, turned off all FX (IFX and MFX) from B001 and it's got a low volume now, or put Compressor IFX on the Combi one and it's louder.

There is no compression effect on PROG B001 - the IFX is St Grapphic 7EQ and the master effects are 16.St Chorus and 53 SmoothHall .

Can you let me know what copmpression effects and the params you used to get it louder ?
cheers
