Radias not being recognized. HELP!

Post by ale suide »

Hi guys, I'm having troubles connecting my radias via usb. Neither ableton, reason nor the sound editor are receiving midi signal. I've already tried reistalling the drivers, changing the usb slot, changing the usb cable, even used m-audio midifix app, but I can't get it to work.
The settings on the radias are ok; Protect is turned to OFF in the MEMORY page and System Ex set to 0 in the MIDI FILTER page.
I'm about to lose it here, anyone has a solution for this?
Cheers

What are you connecting to?
What Midi port did you select?
midi in.......Radias 1 Kbd/Knob?? or Radias 1 Midi in???
midi out.....Radias 1 Sound????, or Radias 1 Midi out???

The settings on the editor's preferences are just fine. Beside that, it should work in ableton or reason, but it doesn't :(

If the settings are "just fine" it "should work"... :(
just make sure "Just fine" means you are not using Radias 1 Midi in and Radias 1 Midi out to control from or play back your radias...as these settings will only control or be controlled by secondary Midi devices that are connected to your midi in and out on your Radias...

You must use Radias 1 Knob and Radias 1 Sound as your Midi ports for it to be just fine..

also, your vagueness on what you are hooking up to "via USB" does not even suggest you are asking for help...... Windows Vista PC?? Mac leopard??
just make sure when you power up the switch on the back you hear ding ding..... :)

These questions have been answered numerous times on this forum if you choose to look for answers...

Again, the midi ports are ok.
I'm on a PC running XP SP2.
I've read tons of threads about connection problems, thats how I know that everything is configured just fine. Radias Sound Editor's preferences shows this:

MIDI IN : RADIAS 1 KBD/KNOB (Not Connected)
MIDI OUT: RADIAS 1 SOUND (Not Connected)

I forgot to say that te radias was working ok until suddenly it stop working.

ok...
Did it stop suddenly while you were working with it, or was it not recognised after you powered off and on a few days later???

Have you installed any other midi to usb devices ??? like that M audio thang for example since it last worked???
how many other usb hubs on your XP device have you installed earlier usb drivers for the radias or any other keyboard for????
the radias to....I believed you mentioned that youtried it on 2 different USB ports....Windows XP has a 10 instance limit in its registry..... and Media player updates have been known to swipe several of em....you can find and delete those duplicates .......
any other midi/usb type devices have you run on that machine in the past???
Edirol,Yamaha,creamware,M Audio,...???

Thanks for the reply dude.
Lets see:
1)Honestly, I don't remember.
2)3 weeks ago I got a Korg PadKontrol but the radias kept working a few days later than that, so I guess that's not the problem.
3)Midifix is a tool by M audio to clean that driver registry, I assume, again, that its not the problem neither.
4) the only devices that I've ever installed in this machine are a focusrite saffire, an uc33e, the radias and de padKontrol.
Today I'm gonna try plug it in another PC, I'm starting to think it might a problem of the radias itself :(
