Where can I hear the competition entries guys? Would love to have a gander..

Even as a newb I can sense its limitations, but I still like it. Initially I noticed it had no full ADSR env. Still miss full control now. But the sound and interface makes up for this I think. I''m not overlooking software though, I like the idea of hybrid setups (soft/hard).

it is limited in modulation, but it is a wicked sequencer... combine midi ox and complex ableton live racks and massive fm8 so, figure out NRPN, and replace drum parts with drum racks and you got the most powerful groove box. Now pass it back through the tubes and a nice hardware compressor and you got yourself a studio and a super wicked performance tool

as for the 32 step part.. I've worked in triplets 32 step, other odd measures but in the end I still only use 16 step bars. Maybe once in a while I'll have some notes in t he 32 step resolution but it's so rare its almost insignificant.

Yeah like reds said the new tubes made a huge difference. All the issues that i had with it before have been resolved. The tubes have really opened it up.The emx sounds, imo, like it is supposed to.

The mx was one of my first hw purchases and it's one that i'm holding onto.I use it in conjunction with other gear as well and it has it's place.I'm using it in a track right now with the RS7000 and(funnily enough)the korg R3!I'll post it up when it's finished :)

The mx and the r3 are a nice combo, well for the music i make anyway. It's limited yeah but it works well with anything and it's a blast to use.New tubes are a must though to get the best out of it ;)

midi ox = free utility to take midi messages and change them around(for instance my set sends a note on message for program change(pattern change) so that I can launch dummy clips in ableton which change instruments. Drum parts are just note on/off messages which can trigger drum racks, NRPN is a type of midi message. For ableton to understand the electribe's drum part knob movements, you need to translate from NRPN to standart CC messages.

well no, the cc's make perfect sence, it's the NRPN that's confusing.... but don't worry once you get it it's a really simple concept.

I tried to get ableton to talk to my FB-01 using system exclusive for about a week once. Got no where. Now scared of anything past sending midi note data lol

I even had to emulate an Atari at one stage. Even that didnt work!

Gona check out NRPN, thanks for tip.
