loading syx patches via USB/midi to microkorg - please help!

loading syx patches via USB/midi to microkorg - please help!

hello - just bought a usb to midi cable, downloaded the korg editor thinking that i could load external .syx files to the microkorg. although i can edit the existing patches i can't seem to load patches that i download. how can i load patches??? i'm not much of a computer guy so i need a real simple syx loader. anyone got any advice???

Thanks - that software works pretty well!
Found a few .syx patches on the internet - found loads of .prg files - but can't load those - do you know anything about loading .prg files???

I'm not sure but PRG files are just info, but they must be formatted to match the unit using it. You can't use patches from one synth with another unless the modules are set up in a similar way.

Cool thanks for that. Yeah the patches I donwnloaded were supposedly from a microkorg - it's alright. Best figure out myself how to make the sounds I want - can't seem to get a good lush string sound going though...
