M1 sequencer problem

I have just acquired an M1 but can't get the sequencer to record. It plays the demo songs OK, but nothing happens when I try to record in real time. Followed the manual, but no joy. Any suggestions/ things to check would be most appreciated.

Hey grumblefire!
Maybe the internal memory is full??
Try to delete all SONGS in memory and then to record again.
