Korg R3 trouble recalling saved formant motion data

Post by SevenYearNight »

It says in the manual that you can write the vocoder/formant motion data, and that you can choose a numbered selection (1-16). I have done this, and had saved under 3 positions. However, I can't find anywhere how to recall this data. The initialize program function doesn't seem to give you a 1-16 option, and when I use that, it only brings up the first formant motion data I saved. Can someone please tell me how to recall the saved formant motion data? How do I get to the numbered list and choose my saved data?

Thank you in advance

Press the VOCODER button so that it flashes. Then the 4th assignable knob defaults to the Formant Motion Number parameter.

By the way, you'll do yourself a big favor by using the R3 Software Editor Librarian to create programs instead of using the R3 knobs. Everything becomes much more apparent using the software. Using the software you can even see the Formant Motion wave data and edit it.

Thanks a lot for the quick response!

You're very welcome!

By the way, you might want to try my HyperVoc patch that you can get from the R3 download section here. It works well with formant motion, not just live vocoding.
