microKorg MIDI routing

Post by testing »

I'm looking to use the microKorg as a tone generator for a MIDI sequencer while using it as a controller at the same time. That's to say I want the microKorg to play tones from MIDI-in, but not play tones when keys are pressed, but rather send the keys to MIDI-out.

Is this possible? Looking through the midi routing sections of the documentation it seems like a no-no, but if anybody could clear it up for me I'd much appreciate it.

you can turn 'Local Mode' off. this is common on a lot of synths and does exactly what you ask.

i think its in the global or the MIDI settings on the second selector knob

Sounds like you need to turn Local Control off. Check out the LOCAL setting in the MIDI setup on the microKorg (LOCAL is set using knob #2).

LOL ... X-Trade got there before me :-) Good to see we both thought the same thing.
