Damper Pedal
I'd like to buy a damper pedal for my Triton Extreme, but noticed the Korg DS-H1 is more expensive than other brands. Are the Roland DP8 and Yamaha FC3 as good as the DS-H1? And are they all compatible with the Triton Extreme (with half-damper capabilities)?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hi
The Korg pedal will be suitable for the instrument naturally, but others r cpmbatable. For eg: I have the yamaha pedal BUT u will have to change the polarity in the Global - controller section for it to work as it should (bearing in mind that it's not a korg pedal)
oh, BTW just in case, it's done this way...hit the global button, then the menu button, then the box named controller. u will see the sec. "damper polarity" change the box to the right from korg to "+" sign. that's it..
oh, don't forget to save "write global setting" other wise when u power down and up again, u will have to start all over again. Not at my board right now, that's from my head. Any questions or problems, post back...
cheers

Press GLOBAL key then press MENU key then touch P2: Controller then press arrow right to Damper Polarity and change it from " (-) Korg Standard" to " (+)". After this touch right upper dropping menu arrow and press "Write Global Settings". Then go to MEDIA and save .pcg data to write this new global setting along with your programs and combis.
If you load some other .pcg data where global setting for damper isn't set to (+) you'll have to do it again.

Not really sure what you're saying. I can change programs just fine. Or is the note from the previous program supposed to hold over when you change?philiplyons wrote:The Roland pedal is NOT compatible. It screws up the MIDI on your Triton (in that you cannot change programs while the pedal is attached).

No, it isn't. Korg cuts the sound of when you change program or combi, no matter do you press damper pedal or change sounds while keeping keys pressed (with this other option, keyboard continues to produce sound, but there is audible glitch between sound changing).Or is the note from the previous program supposed to hold over when you change?

I had a Roland pedal, and it made my Triton behave very erratically:

If you go into the controller menu in global and change the damper polarity to (+) instead of (-) Korg Standard, everything should work fine. I tried switching it back to Korg Standard and now I see what you mean about not being able to change tracks.
