Thanks,
I just got my TR and am loving it to bits. Everyday I find out more and more and the more it amazes me. But I need to crack on and am having difficulty creating drum loops due to my lack of attention span. Is there a real quick way to record drum loops? Would step recording be better?
You know that book, drum loops for dummies? Welcome to my world. Your help is much appreciated. GDK.
Hi ya, can you help with creating drum loops?

You don't say how/what method, you intend to use to "record" your loops.
I use software, (Soundforge), to create my loops, but that's for use in Sonar.
I have... just turned the ARP on, and let it play while jamming.
How will you record your loops?

i find by far the easiest way to program drum loops is through the arpegiator user patterns (in global mode).
you make a set-note pattern and then you can choose up to 12 (i think, maybe it was 9?) different drums from their note value. you can then program quite visually.
alternatively, step recording is good, but looping it can sometimes be a pain. with the arp you can just leave it going

wow, you guys are great
Im going to take this advice and get into the studio now and see how I get on.
I'm not sure what method I will end up using, I guess I will find out what the quickest is and easiest to create the beats I need.
I have Adobe but I think I might have alternatives. I'm going to check that out too.

Good progress but need more guidance
So I have found a few good drum beats and variations. But I still havent found a simple rock beat to rock out to. Is there any presets you can help me with please? and maybe a little help in getting there.
I guess what I want to do is find a decent drum beat to start with so then I can create the length of song and tempo and then muck around with putting fills in and that sort of stuff.
I think I'd like to try preset stuff first and then work on making my own...but I'm a white man with white rhythm abilities.
Thanks.
