New Tubes

Post by soundklinik33 »

Here are some tubes that I am looking at, they come with specs, matched pair etc... For ESX 1... Do I get better sound out of it? Is it worth it?
http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... :IT&ih=003
Any experts with electribes do you recomend them?
TIA

I don't know why but the tubes sound great on the SX :!:

I can't say the ECC83s will be suited to the ESX because the stock tubes didn't suit the Mx at all imo but they sound good on the SX!

I don´t think korg designed both machines so different to get such a big difference between them...

If you got the EMX ROM samples loaded into the ESX I bet both machines will sound almost identically...

The EMX ROM samples are available somewhere in the net...I don´t remember where but it´s not hard to find them...and I could remember some topic about it in the forum...

I'll have to try that.i was going to resample the EMX to see but i'll see if i can find the rom samples and load those straight in.Here's the thing,i turned up the tube gain full on the SX and there was no perceivable distortion but i when turned it up on the MX you could hear it,not nearly as bad as wih the old tubes but a big difference between the two..

I searched in Google and in misc. Yahoo groups but couldn't find them. Any ideas where I can find the samples?

I was looking for the EMX ROM sample pack on a bunch of my 2007 backup DVDs, but I dont found it yet

I remember getting it from some guy on emule...I don´t know how it was extracted but it have all the drums and instruments samples, even the ones that are multisamples...

GT83EECs: http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/6/4/1 ... EEC83s.wav

EH 12AX7s: http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/6/4/1 ... 012AX7.wav

There's more gain with the GTs.The sound is a lot clearer and overall they sound a bit smoother and punchier.Much more subtle than on the MX but a definite improvement.I read another post saying the JJs reduced the volume but it increased with the GTs so maybe the GTEEC83s are better suited to the tribes, they sound good on both the MX and the SX and are worth getting :)

I'll have to get another set now!
